The Audi A5 is a sports car (two-door coupe, five-door liftback or convertible) manufactured since 2007 by VAG (Germany) under the Audi brand at the Ingolstadt plant. The A5 was first introduced on March 6, 2007. The second generation car, which is currently sold in Israel, has been produced since 2016 and was restyled in 2019. Exterior
The advantages of the new coupe are obvious: sporty nature and laconic design. The proportions are very harmonious. The wide air intakes and chrome strips make the front face of the Audi A5 Coupe look particularly sporty and serious. The car features new side skirts and expressive wheel arches, in harmony with the large (optionally up to 19-inch) light-alloy wheels. The wide rear end is accentuated by a cross-member in Aluminum Silver on the diffuser and trapezoidal tailpipes. It is immediately obvious that the car belongs to the famous family, as it sports the ‘muscular’ wheel arches, the pattern of the recognizable grille with a honeycomb structure and the heavy look of the LED headlights reminiscent of paper clips. The Audi A5 Coupe comes standard with LED headlights. The innovative Matrix LED headlights with laser lighting technology are available as an option.
Interior
Compared to the previous first generation, the interior of the 2019/2020 Audi A5 Coupe has become more spacious. The interior is embellished with an optional contour lighting with 30 color options that you can customize as you like. Excellent sound insulation and sports seats with massage function and adjustable lateral support make your journey even more enjoyable.
The car features a beautiful and solid interior design with a predominance of straight, strict lines. The instruments are extremely informative, and the multifunction steering wheel looks sporty. The central console is designed to control the main functions, including the multimedia system screen, sound system and air conditioning units. The interior is primarily finished with high-quality materials that are successfully combined with each other: expensive plastics, genuine leather, Alcantara, wood and aluminum inserts. The front seats are simply amazing, being moderately tight, comfortable, with a well-developed profile and a lot of electrical adjustments, as well as position memory.
The digital world of the Audi A5 Coupe is easy to navigate via the MMI touchscreen display. The optional Audi virtual cockpit is easy to operate due to the presence of the customization function, intuitive menus and excellent informativity of the high-resolution screen. Most of the functions of the virtual dashboard are easy to operate using the buttons and keys of the multifunction steering wheel.
Powertrains
In Israel, the new Audi A5 Coupe comes with one engine option: the TFSI petrol engine, fuel-efficient and powerful. The 2-liter engine is turbocharged and develops 204 hp, which provides acceleration to 100 km/h in 7.1 seconds, and the maximum speed is 210 km/h. It is important that compared to the previous model, Audi has managed to decrease fuel consumption while increasing the output of the power units, and the current A5 models with a 2-liter engine consume 6.3 liters per 100 kilometers. All cars are equipped with the MHEV system, which saves fuel and reduces harmful emissions.
The engine is complemented by a 7-speed S tronic dual-clutch transmission. The model is front-wheel drive. The steering mechanism is equipped with an electric booster, while all the wheels feature disc brakes with ABS, BAS, EBD and other electronics. The sports car is equipped with a double wishbone independent suspension at the front and a five-link transmission with four upper levers at the rear.
Equipment
The manufacturer can be rightfully proud of the Audi MMI Navigation plus infotainment system with MMI touch panel. It provides 10GB of built-in memory, a DVD drive and an 8.3-inch display with a resolution of 1024×480 pixels. The magnificent sound of the luxurious Bang & Olufsen Sound System is reproduced by 19 speakers for surround sound and immersive concert experience. As an alternative to the analogue dashboard, Audi offers the Audi virtual cockpit with various display options, which provide additional convenience for the driver. The new 2020/2021 Audi A5 Coupe offers a large amount of assistance systems, which can be selected both separately and as part of packages (Parking, City, Travel). Adaptive cruise control with start-stop function and traffic jam assistant will help you to drive the car at speeds up to 65 km/h.
