Chevrolet Spark Hatchback. 4th generation, 2018 restyling
The 2018 fourth generation Chevrolet Spark is a classic and even a sample subcompact car for city driving. Obviously, its strengths include small size, maneuverability, responsive and easy control, a wide list of safety options. The disadvantages are the same, including slow acceleration, low power by modern standards, uncertain behavior on the highway.
What’s new?
Restyling was not global with only a few changes being made. The 2018/2019 Chevrolet Spark has acquired an upgraded front panel with additional LED running lights and headlights with floodlights, as well as new two-piece taillights with a modernized hatch rear. One of additional options comprises the Driver Confidence package enabling you to automatically brake forward at low speed. This also includes forward collision and lane departure warning options. The 2018 models can also come with the new ACTIV trim level and transition packages between the 1LT and 2LT trim levels, based on the 1LT trim levels.
Parameters
The five-door hatchback Chevrolet Spark is only 3.6 meters long, 1.5 meters wide and 1.4 meters high. Its weight ranges from 1 to 1.1 tons, depending on the trim level. The car is two-row and four-seater. Behind the rear seats there is a space of 0.3 cubic meters or 0.7 cubic meters with the seats folded down.
Engine and dynamics
The new Chevrolet Spark comes standard with a 1.4-liter 4-cylinder engine with 98 hp. The engine drives the front wheels and is accompanied by either a 5-speed manual transmission or a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT). Acceleration to 100 km / h occurs in about 11 seconds, so you should be careful when exiting secondary roads to highways, when drying uphill, when trying to get away from a chase, when trying to overtake someone.
The dynamics of the car restrains these reckless inclinations. Moreover, the Spark offers surprisingly easy and precise handling, which makes this city car close to ideal. This compact buddy feels good in the city, so it is not necessary to go on the highway.
Interior
Like any cheerful city dweller, the 2019/2020 Chevrolet Spark has an inexhaustible supply of interesting things, including such standard options as MyLink infotainment system with a 7-inch touchscreen, 4-speaker stereo, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, 4G Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth, USB port, satellite radio. Other available features include power windows and door locks, cruise control, remote and keyless entry, push button start and sunroof. The restyled hatchback also features two sets of LATCH connectors for attaching child car seats, which received high ratings for ease of installation.
