The first generation
The first generation Honda CR-V was produced from 1995 to 2001, having gone through a restyling in 1998. The CR-V was the first crossover designed by Honda’s own forces. The second generation
The second-generation Honda CR-V was produced from 2001 to 2006, going through a facelift in 2004. The second CR-V, made on the platform of the seventh generation Honda Civic, became larger and heavier than its predecessor, received a new design and a new engine. The compact rear suspension allows you to increase the volume of the trunk to 2000 liters. The third generation
The third generation Honda CR-V was produced from 2006 to 2012, having gone through a facelift in 2009. The third CR-V was lower, wider and shorter than its predecessor, the rear door opened up, not sideways. The center of gravity decreased due to the spare wheel located under the trunk floor. A special feature of the Honda CR-V 3 generation was the through passage between the seats of the first and second rows. In 2007, the Honda CR-V entered the list of the ten best-selling cars in the American market and became the most popular crossover, overtaking the Ford Explorer, which held this title for 15 years. In Canada, the CR-V was second, behind the Ford Escape. In 2008, the Honda CR-V again became the best-selling crossover and one of the most popular cars in the United States.
The fourth generation
The fourth-generation Honda CR-V was produced from 2011 to 2018, going through a facelift in 2014. The fourth CR-V received a new intelligent Real-Time All-Wheel Drive system and a new Earth Dreams direct injection engine with a continuously variable transmission. To improve handling in the updated CR-V, shock absorbers, springs, anti-roll bars were upgraded and the steering gear ratios were changed. In the rating of the German ‘Association of Technical Supervision’ (VdTUV) in the age category ‘from 6 to 7 years’ Honda CR-V took the third place in reliability among the supported cars of 2018.
The fifth generation
The fifth generation Honda CR-V is produced from 2016 to the present. The new CR-V is built on a new global platform that debuted on the tenth generation Honda Civic. Honda engineers have made every effort to make the Honda CR-V 2019/2020 truly comfortable, exceptionally controlled and able to overcome off-road conditions. The new Honda CR-V 2020 demonstrates high stability in straight-line traffic and smooth lane change, as well as ease of maneuvering in a confined space at low speeds. Already in the basic configuration of the updated crossover, the electronic complex Honda Sensing is included-adaptive cruise control, automatic braking and lane keeping systems. After a small restyling of 2019, the 2019/2020 Honda CR-V received new bumpers with full-width chrome inserts, darkened taillights, different wheels and modified exhaust nozzles.
