Hyundai i30. Korean vehicle with European design
In 2020, the third generation model has undergone the second scheduled restyling.
The Hyundai i30 is a compact C-class passenger vehicle from the South Korean automobile maker, Hyundai Motor, produced since 2007. In 2020, Israeli buyers could purchase the third generation 5-door hatchback after the 2018 restyling.
In addition to the 5-door hatchback, a station wagon version of the Hyundai i30 is available (as for 2020, it was not officially delivered to Israel). The i30 5-Door Crossover Wagon, sold together with the Hyundai Elantra in the US and Canada, is called the Elantra Touring.
The first generation
The first generation Hyundai i30 was produced from 2007 to 2012, while its restyling took place in 2010. Built on the same platform as the Kia Ceed, the first i30 was not all-new. The 4 generation Hyundai Elantra was taken as a basis. And the body design and interior of the first i30 were developed by German designers of the European division of Hyundai. During crash tests conducted by the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) in 2007, the Hyundai i30 got 5 out of 5 stars for a front impact and 4 stars for side impact and rollover.
The second generation
The second generation Hyundai i30 was produced from 2011 to 2017, and it was restyled in 2015. The second i30 also shared the same platform with the Kia Ceed, like the first one, was produced in the Czech Republic and became more interesting in all respects, including the improved exterior, build quality and materials. Unlike the three-door version, the presence of additional doors made the five-door hatchback more convenient for family use. The striking, bold design in the ‘Flowing Lines’ style made the second i30 look sporty and energetic. And a great package of security systems allowed it to honorably withstand the crash tests. In 2012, the Hyundai i30 hatchback passed the Euro NCAP (The European New Car Assessment Program) test and got 90% for the safety of adult passengers and children and 86% for active safety.

The third generation
The third generation Hyundai i30 has been produced from 2017 to the present, and it was restyled in 2018. The third i30 retained the same platform (with modifications), but got a more restrained exterior than the second generation, and a completely new interior design. The design and technical side of the third i30 was developed by the European division of Hyundai. The wheelbase remained the same, the body became slightly shorter, but at the same time longer and wider.
The new Hyundai i30 is equipped with a multimedia system featuring a touchscreen display, suitable for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as wireless charging for smartphones. The 2018/2019 Hyundai i30 is distinguished by an advanced safety system, which includes ‘smart’ cruise control informing the driver about speed limit signs, a blind spot monitoring system on the sides and at the rear of the vehicle, active line control and automatic emergency braking. This also includes an automatic head light switch and a driver attention control system.
After the restyling in 2018, the renewed i30 now has new bumpers, a new grille, a modified diffuser, new optics with a V-shaped diode pattern, a multimedia system, moderate hybrid powertrains and a liter turbo engine.
