The first generation

The second generation Hyundai Tucson, produced from 2009 to 2015, became famous under a completely different name ‘Hyundai ix35’. Based on the same platform as the 3rd generation Kia Sportage, the second Tucson had a front-wheel drive version and an all-wheel drive version. The SUV boasted more powerful and fuel-efficient engines, improved safety system, and changed dimensions. In a short period of time, the 2nd generation Hyundai Tucson managed to become one of the top three sales leaders among compact SUVs in many countries.
The third generation
The third generation Hyundai Tucson has been produced from 2015 to the present, while its restyling took place in 2018. The company has given up the ix35 name in most markets other than China, returning its former name ‘Tucson’. The new Tucson has become much better. It is bigger in size, while its exterior looks more attractive, and the interior has gained more power and sophistication.

The 2018/2019 Hyundai Tucson is a K1 class off-road SUV, the all-wheel or front-wheel drive versions of which are available. It has become longer, wider and lower than its predecessor, has an increased distance between the axles and, accordingly, a more spacious interior. The design of the car has become more modern, being in harmony with the general corporate style of the company. The interior is finished with softer and higher quality materials. The list of basic and optional equipment has been significantly expanded, including seat ventilation, blind spot monitoring, powered boot, self-parking unit, lane tracking, automatic braking system, and a rear cross-traffic control radar. The list of options of the 2019/2020 Hyundai Tucson include climate control, stability assist and anti-lock braking system.
The new Hyundai Tucson is rightfully considered a worthy representative of its class and competes with Jeep Compass, Subaru Forester, Nissan X-Trail, Mazda CX-5 and Kia Sportage. Compared to its competitors, the 2020 Hyundai Tucson offers an original exterior design, acceptable off-road performance and an affordable cost. And a wide list of options included in the basic trim is an additional advantage.
