Jeep Compass is a compact 5-door SUV produced by the Jeep ‘Off-Road’ Division of the Italian-American automaker, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles. Currently, the 2016 second generation Compass is available on the Israeli market.

Exterior

The second generation Compass has become larger and more beautiful than the previous one. The shape of the headlights with diode daytime running lights has changed, and there is a chrome piping at the top of the window and down the trunk lid window. The radiator grille has retained its traditional style. The bumper boasts a center slot, additional horizontal lights and round fog lamps. The massive lower part is made of plastic to maintain off-road capabilities. As a result, the 2016/2017 Jeep Compass became almost a mini-version of the Grand Cherokee.

Modifications

The 2016/2017 Jeep Compass is supplied to Israel as an all-wheel drive car only, although front-wheel drive versions are also available. The ground clearance of the all-wheel drive Compass is 208 mm, which fully justifies its ‘off-road’ qualities. The SUV is equipped with a 1.4-liter MultiAir turbocharged petrol engine, producing 170 hp. With it, the Jeep Compass can accelerate to 200 km/h, and the average fuel consumption is 8.3 liters per 100 km. According to the manufacturer, the average consumption is 7.5 liters per 100 km.

Trim versions

Israeli buyers can acquire 2 trim versions of the 2019/2020 Jeep Compass: LIMITED and LIMITED PLUS. It should be noted right away that the panoramic roof is available only in the LIMITED trim version, as well as the two-tone body. As for the rest, the versions are practically the same. Both trims are equipped with six airbags, a tire pressure sensor, rear parking sensors, central locking, folding rear seats and a full-size spare wheel, which are rare today.

Both trim versions of the 2019/2020 Jeep Compass have a pretty impressive list of safety and driver assistance systems, including lane control and collision avoidance system. There is also a choice of driving modes and adaptive cruise control. Both trim versions comprise a multimedia system suitable for Bluetooth, Carplay and Android Auto, plus the voice activation system, 2-zone climate control, push-button start and multifunctional steering wheel, electric folding mirrors and even heated side mirrors.

The LIMITED PLUS trim of the 2020 Jeep Compass is also equipped with LED headlights and a light sensor. A rain sensor, adaptive lighting system and automatic headlight range control are available in both trim versions of the SUV.
