2018 Mazda 3 Hatchback. 4 generation
Mazda 3 5-Door Hatchback is a front-wheel drive Japanese C-class car, produced by Mazda Corporation since 2003. Currently, the 4th generation of this compact hatchback is available, and could be purchased in Israel since the end of 2018. In addition to the hatchback, the Mazda 3 Sedan is also offered to Israeli buyers.
The 4th generation Mazda 3 hatchback has a spectacular exterior, a completely new interior worthy of the premium class, advanced Skyactiv technologies and the best level of safety.
Exterior
The design of the 2018/2019 Mazda 3 5-door hatchback is made in accordance with the latest corporate style of the brand. The exterior is formed by a long hood, a slight negative slope of the radiator grille and ‘clean’ sidewalls without sharp stamped reinforcement plates/ribs. The new Mazda 3 hatchback looks sportier, thanks to the sloping roof and narrow glass tailgate, and its profile resembles a coupe. Moreover, the new Mazda 3 hatchback is distinguished by the original radiator grille and front bumper, and in the back, there are narrower and more expressive taillights and a spectacular diffuser with two round tailpipes as compared with the sedan.
Interior
The interior design of the 2019/2020 ‘third’ Mazda hatchback is sporty. The convex volume of the dashboard dominates the center console. The display of the multimedia system has a diagonal of 8.8 inches. The driver’s seat provides better visibility. The center armrest has been lengthened, and the transmission control handle is positioned so that the movement of the hand from the steering wheel and back is as comfortable and fast as possible. The sound insulation of the interior has been improved.
Technical features
The front suspension of the 2020 Mazda 3 hatchback has redesigned MacPherson struts. Plus, there is the redesigned torsion beam in the back. The 4th generation Mazda 3 hatchback is 4,459 mm long, being 203 mm shorter than the sedan. At the same time, the 4th generation hatchback has retained almost the same size as the third one. As for the wheelbase of the new Mazda 3, it is 2,725 mm, which is 25 mm larger in comparison with its predecessor, making the interior more spacious. The fourth generation Mazda 3 offers the most advanced safety technologies.
Modifications
In Israel, the new Mazda 3 comes with a 2-liter SKYACTIV-G petrol engine with 165 hp, which allows it to reach speeds of up to 201 km/h. It is equipped with a 6-speed automatic transmission and has front-wheel drive.
Trim versions
The two trim versions of the 2020 Mazda 3 hatchback, COMFORT and SPIRIT, do not differ much, and all the basic life support systems are included in both of them: a knee airbag in addition to the standard set, a tire pressure sensor, adaptive cruise control, navigation, climate control, driver fatigue sensor, lane departure warning system, hill start assist (HSA) and collision avoidance system, start-stop, keyless access and anti-theft system. In addition, the SPIRIT package includes a sunroof, a multifunctional steering wheel, paddle shifters, LED headlights, adaptive lighting and R18 wheels.
