Mercedes GLS AMG is the sports version of the full-size 4WD luxury S-class crossover from the German Mercedes-Benz trademark. It’s prouced since 2015. As of 2020, the second generation of this SUV was available.

The new Mercedes AMG GLS 63 4MATIC+ is not only the biggest but also the most luxurious of the AMG line. The 5-door crossover is a 7-seater. It’s equipped with AMG High Performance. All the 6 passengers will immerse in the comfort that worth S-class. The third seat range offers two full-size seats for two rear passengers. The third row of seats is also electrically foldable to allow quick loading of bulky baggage in the baggage compartment.

Features

The 2020 Mercedes GLS AMG has a branded grille with vertical lintels, glossy chrome, and the ‘AMG’ logo. It also has a hood with powerful protrusions, wheels with optional forged discs to 23 inches and rectangular nozzles on the fluted exhaust tips.

The redesigned AMG front apron integrates the Jetwing and the black sports air intakes. The standard versuion of the new AMG GLS 63 is equipped with the ultra-modern MULTIBEAM LED headlights. The LEDs and taillights provide a unique light graphic. The rear apron with sporty diffuser and silver chrome-plated trim makes the rear end look sportier and visually puts a powerful final chord. This is perfectly matched by two rectangular exhaust nozzles on the tailpipes with glossy chrome plating and fluting on the outside.

Modifications

The 2020 crossover features an electrified, 4-L twin-supercharged gasoline engine capable of producing 612 hp and accelerating the car to 100 km/h in 4.2 seconds. The top speed is 250 km/h, but the AMG Driver package can extend the limit up to 280, making this car the fastest GLS ever. The engine is aided by the EQ Boost hybrid system, a starter-generator with 22 hp and 250 Nm torque, saves fuel, assists the engine operation in the first seconds of acceleration and is responsible for the start-stop function.

The 4Matic+ all-wheel-drive transmission is based on the AMG Speedshift 9-band automatic transmission, the standard brakes are replaced by the reinforced with 400 mm front and 380 mm rear disc braking mechanisms. The standard equipment includes a chassis with air bags, active anti-roll bars with independent roll suppression systems for the front and rear axles.

Trim versions

The 2021 Mercedes AMG GLS 63 4MATIC+ is equipped with all the best features offered by the today’s Mercedes-Benz and Mercedes-AMG. New AMG Performance steering wheel and the air-conditioned multicontour seats, upholstered in black Nappa leather in the standard version, which provides extremely firm lateral support. A variety of high-quality color and material options are available for the premium SUV. The standard widescreen front panel display visually combines the instrument panel display and the multimedia display into a single unit. Modern style and user-friendliness come together in this car: integrated stand-alone large displays with a diagonal size of 2×31.2 cm (2×12.3 inches), high resolution, and touch controls.

The 2020/2021 AMG GLS 63 looks like an SUV and proves to be one regardless of the terrain. It is equipped with Trail and Sand driving modes. Off-road settings such as Climb, Roll, and Differential Lock can be selected as well. This is a real sports crossover, suitable for both track and off-road, combining a good cross-country ability and good dynamics, as a true premium class car, which is available to the chosen ones.
