The first generation SEAT Ateca after the 2020 restyling
The SEAT Ateca is the first SUV launched by SEAT (Spain) in 2017. It is built on the same platform as the Volkswagen Tiguan and Skoda Karoq. It is a compact five-seater five-door car with a ground 180 mm clearance and an attractive design. There are both front and all-wheel drive versions.
Exterior
The 2020 Ateca looks bold and eye-catching. Such elements as the hexagonal radiator grille, complex architecture bumper, large niches of fog lights and beautiful broken-line headlights make the ‘face’ of the SUV expressive, moderately aggressive and memorable. Convex wheel arches in the shape of rounded squares, a straight line of windows, and a slightly sloping roof line with rails make the vehicle look more serious. The rear part is equipped with long headlights extending far into the fenders and the fifth door, a spoiler on its upper edge and two rectangular exhaust pipes.
In Israel, the 2020/2021 SEAT Ateca is available in ten colors, eight of which are beautiful metallic colors. Depending on the trim level, the vehicle comes with light-alloy wheels with a diameter of 17 or 18 inches. The SUV is 4,381 mm long, 1,841 wide mm and 1,615 mm high. The wheelbase is 2,638 mm.
Interior
The interior trim also depends on the trim level, but in any case, it comprises the combined two-tone options. After restyling, the trim materials and the steering wheel have changed. But the main difference is the new multimedia system with a display of 8.25 or 9.2 inches (depending on the trim level). The dashboard is digital, based on a 10.25-inch color display.
The car’s interior is spacious (this impression is enhanced by the optional panoramic sunroof), the trunk is large enough (485-510 liters, depending on the type of drive).
Power trains and chassis
The Ateca has a lot of engines, but only option is available in Israel: a turbocharged four-cylinder gasoline direct fuel injection engine with 150 hp. It is paired with a semi-automatic DSG (with two clutches). Fuel consumption is within 6.8 l/100 km in the combined cycle. The fuel economy is facilitated by the automatic shutdown of two engine cylinders, depending on the mode of its operation, as well as the ‘Start-Stop’ system, which turns off the engine at stops. The car is built on the MQB platform with MacPherson strut suspension at the front and a multi-link suspension at the rear.
Trim levels and equipment
The Israeli buyers can choose from the three trim levels: Style, XP and FR. The Style version is the simplest, but at the same time it includes: adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning system, 6 airbags, dual-zone climate control, rear parking sensor, audio system with 8 speakers, etc. There are many electronic systems: ABS, BAS, ESC, TSC, driver fatigue alert system.
The XP version has all the equipment offered by the basic version, plus a driver knee airbag, keyless access, rear parking sensor, electric panoramic sunroof, and the SEAT DRIVE PROFILE.
The SEAT DRIVE PROFILE is a new vehicle personalization system that allows the driver to adapt their car in accordance with their preferences. By changing the mode, the driver can see, hear and feel the changes in the behavior of their SUV. By activating one of three modes (Normal, Sport or Eco), you can change engine power response, steering parameters, interior lighting color (red for Sport and white for Normal and Eco).
The top-end FR includes an additional front parking sensor sending information to the display, a parking aid system, and an audio system with 9 speakers and a subwoofer.
