Suzuki Baleno. The second generation. Released since 2016

Suzuki Baleno is a compact B-class car produced by Suzuki Motor Corporation (Japan). In 2020, Israeli buyers could purchase the second generation of this front-wheel drive 5-door hatchback, released in 2016.

The Baleno is the ideal vehicle for busy city traffic. The 2016/2017 Baleno hatchback is compact in size: it is 3,995 mm long, 1,745 mm wide, and has a wheelbase of only 2,520 mm and a very small unladen weight of 905 kg. Its trunk has a small volume of only 320 liters, which can turn into 756 liters with the rear seats folded down.

Exterior

The Baleno’s exterior is distinguished by smooth and detailed lines and a hood with raised lines. The lower part of the radiator grille is decorated by a chrome line that mimics the continuation of the hood lines. The large headlights of the 2016/2017 Suzuki Baleno, raised to the fenders, are equipped with lenses with xenon lamps. The top of the bumper features a line that highlights the headlights and the grille. At the bottom of the bumper, there is a slight extension with a compartment formed in front of it. A wide air intake with round fog lamps along the edges is installed in this compartment. In order to make the hatchback look sportier, the designers installed the rear-view mirrors on the legs, and used chrome along the bottom of the window and an unpainted front pillar for detailing.

Modifications

The 2019/2020 Suzuki Baleno comes to Israel with a 1.2-liter petrol engine with 90 hp. It is quite fuel-efficient, as it consumes an average of 4.7 liters per 100 km, and even less on the highway: only 4.2 liters. At the same time, it can accelerate the car to a maximum of 175 km/h.

Trim versions

There is only one trim version of the 2020 Baleno in Israel: the GLX. But it has all the basic things: 6 airbags, a tire pressure sensor, central locking, and a front-mounted and rear-mounted child seat attachment system. And the 1-zone climate control is an additional advantage. Such elements as kicking plate, leather steering wheel, power windows, power mirrors, and push button start make the car even more comfortable. And the start-stop system saves fuel.

The new Baleno has the following safety systems: ABS, brake assist (BAS, EBD, EBA), electronic stability program (ESP), and even a collision avoidance system. Such options as hill start assist (HSA) and hill descent control (HDC) are indispensable for long trips in Israel. And the adaptive cruise control will ensure that you feel comfortable while driving the new Baleno hatchback.
