MG HS - catalog and technical specifications
MG HS is a mid-size 5-seater crossover, first released in 2018. In Israel, the first generation of a crossover with a plug-in hybrid powertrain is known as the MG EHS. In July 2024, the second generation MG HS will be presented at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. But if the first generation was MG’s own development, then the new crossover is the result of badge engineering: in fact, it is a slightly simplified clone of the Roewe RX5 (the parent concern SAIC owns both the once British brand MG and Roewe). The new MG HS has become larger and more spacious, received a purely petrol version, and has more than doubled the power reserve of the plug-in hybrid. The crossover was equipped with slanted head optics, a hood with stampings and roof rails. The taillights were connected by a luminous strip, and a spoiler was placed on the top of the fifth door. The salon looks much more modern and spacious. Inside there are two large displays (for instruments and multimedia), combined into a single panel - each with a diagonal of 12.3 inches. Almost all functions are controlled by the touchscreen of the media system. There is an Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connection, a wireless charging pad and USB connectors. The equipment includes all-round cameras, electric front seats, an 8-speaker audio system and a set of MG Pilot electronic assistants. There are two versions of the MG HS, both with front-wheel drive. The basic gasoline crossover received a 1.5-liter turbo engine with a return of 170 hp. and 275 Nm paired with a 6-speed manual transmission or a 7-speed robot with two clutches. The advanced plug-in hybrid is equipped with a 1.5-liter turbo engine (142 hp), an electric motor (209 hp) and a battery with a capacity of 24.7 kW/h. Acceleration to “hundreds” takes 6.8 seconds. The electric range has increased to 121 km.
