Audi RS3. Excellent dynamics and excellent stability
The Audi RS3 is a compact all-wheel drive sports version of the Audi A3 from the German automaker Audi AG, which is part of the Volkswagen Group concern. It has been produced since 2011. The Audi RS3 is a ‘charged’ version of the A3 which is a very popular C-class car from Audi and it has received many awards. First generation
The first generation of the Audi RS 3 was produced from 2011 to 2012. The first RS 3, based on the second generation of A3, had a 2.5-liter 340-hp 5-cylinder turbo engine. It allowed to accelerate to a maximum of 250 km/h, limited by electronics, and acceleration from zero to 100 km/h took 4.6 seconds. The first charged hatchback had a permanent all-wheel drive system, fenders were made of carbon fiber to save weight, and its suspension was 25 mm lower than the standard A3. The first RS 3 was produced only in a 5-door version.
Second generation
The second generation of the Audi RS 3 has been produced from 2015 to the present. It was restyled in 2017. The second RS 3, based on the new generation of A3, became the most powerful hatchback in the world, however, before the appearance of the Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG. The 2.5-liter, 367-horsepower turbocharged 5-cylinder engine allowed the second RS 3 to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.3 seconds, and the top speed of the hatchback was 250 km/h. However, the limitation could be raised to 280 km/h for an extra charge. The new Audi RS3 is larger than its predecessor, but at the same time, it is 55 kg lighter. Its battery and center coupling are located at the rear for better weight distribution. Carbon-ceramic brakes and an adaptive suspension with magnetic damping are available as options.
