Changan Yida. Luxury sedan at a low price
At the beginning of 2023, China surprised everyone again by proving to the world that a luxury sedan can be inexpensive. The new Changan model is positioned as a family car in the 100,000 yuan price segment, while offering an ultra-modern design, high quality workmanship and decent equipment. It is known as Changan Yida in China and as Lamore in Europe. The first customers received the novelty on March 18, 2023.
In China the cost of the entry-level version starts at 90,000 yuan (13,000 dollars), while the top-end one costs 111,000 yuan (16,000 dollars).
Exterior
The Changan Yida/Lamore is a mid-size sedan with dimensions of 4,770×1,840×1,440 mm. The car has a low center of gravity, and its body is made of high-strength steels. The wheelbase of 2,765 mm promises interior space. The trunk volume reaches 520 liters. The stylish car is reminiscent of the Uni-V sedan: frameless grille, narrow LED headlights, hidden door handles, panoramic roof. The entry-level version comes with 16-inch rims, whereas the top-end offers 18-inch wheels. There are 5 body colors to choose from.
Interior
The passenger compartment is decorated with woodgrain and rose gold elements. But the materials themselves are simple with a lot of gray plastic. A flat-bottom two-spoke steering wheel and a 10.25-inch digital dashboard extended to the windshield are Changan’s signature style. The multimedia system with a 13.2-inch vertical screen is controlled by voice and gestures, and is based on an 8-core MTK 8666 processor with a frequency of 2 GHz. There is climate control, cruise control, panoramic camera, and parking assist. The DMS driver and passenger monitoring system IMS is responsible for driver fatigue and the safety of children.
Powertrains
A 1.5-liter Blue Whale NE turbo direct injection engine with 170 hp and 260 Nm is complemented by a 7-speed dual-clutch robotic gearbox. The model is front-wheel drive. The average fuel consumption will be 6 liters per 100 km (WLTC). Later there will be a hybrid version.
