Letin. Unlimited possibilities
Letin is the new name of the Chinese automaker Levdeo, founded in 2008. Levdeo produced the simplest and cheapest electric cars weighing up to 1,400 kg, which developed no more than 40 km/h and belonged to a privileged category of transport, invented in the USA and which became popular in China. But after changing the name to a more suitable one for today’s plans, it began to produce serious electric vehicles that are already being exported to Japan, Indonesia and other countries. “Letin” means “life, electricity, technology, intelligent interaction and unlimited possibilities”. The hint for the future is clear.
History
Between 2014 and 2018, the company from the Chinese province of Shandong produced compact electric hatchbacks, sedans, SUVs and even one 24-seater electric bus. In January 2019, Levdeo acquired Yema Auto to enter the full-size electric vehicle market. But Yema produced models with internal combustion engines, so the already existing platforms have been upgraded to be used for the electric vehicles made under the Letin brand. The brand’s first electric car was the Letin i3, a small 5-door hatchback with a range of 100 km. It took 9 hours to fully charge the battery with a capacity of 17 kWh. In 2019, the manufacturer released the Letin i5 sedan with a 40-horsepower electric motor and a 25.55 kWh battery, sufficient for 255 km.
Model range
As of 2022/2023, Letin continues to release the i-line model range, which also includes a new electric car, the Letin Mengo, the name of which translates from Chinese as ‘mango’. Today it is one of the most affordable electric cars in the world: the price, depending on the version, is 5,900 -8,900 dollars. The Mengo is intended not only for China: deliveries are expected to Cambodia, South Korea, Panama, Peru and Brazil.
