There is already information about the future large SUV from Chery, whose models are sold in Israel. The new Chery Tiggo 9 will be the largest in the range and will be offered in 5 and 7-seater versions. It is even bigger than the Chery Tiggo 8 Pro, which is available in Israel, and looks very similar to the stylish Range Rover Velar. This is most likely Chery’s new flagship model. The official premiere of the new SUV will take place later. It is known that it will appear in the first half of 2023 in China, the expected price is 29,000 dollars.

The new Chery Tiggo 9 will be larger than the Tiggo 8 Pro: the dimensions of the future flagship model are 4,780 × 1,920 × 1,700 mm (length x width x height), the wheelbase is 2,800 mm. The vehicle even looks bigger due to the huge grille with an illuminated Chery logo, a high window sill line and embossed wheel arches. In November, Chery ‘walked’ the future vehicle on the roads of China, conducting test drives. And even despite the disguise, experts immediately drew attention to the unusual exterior, designed with the participation of designers of the British brand Land Rover. Which is not at all surprising, since Chery controls half of the assets of the joint venture with Jaguar Land Rover in China.

That’s probably why, except for the “face”, the new Chery Tiggo 9 in many ways resembles the elegant Range Rover Velar: a narrowing window line on the side to the rear, a darkened roof and a steeply angled rear window pillars. Of special note is the recognizable optics in the corporate style and the chrome design at the front. The vehicle will have LED matrix headlights. The model has retractable door handles, which is very fashionable. The SUV has large 20-inch wheels, narrow taillights and a small spoiler on the edge of the roof.
Powertrains
The 2023 Chery Tiggo 9 is based on the T2X platform. A 2.0-liter TGDI Kunpeng series turbocharged engine is capable of delivering 254 hp. The entry-level version will be front-wheel-drive, but you can optionally get an all-wheel-drive version. There will be a traditional 8-speed automatic gearbox and a 7-speed robotic gearbox.
