Chery Tiggo 8 Pro in Israel. Cost and trim levels
One of the most popular models from Chery (China), sold in more than 20 countries, a large 7-seater SUV, the Chery Tiggo 8 Pro is already in Israel. This news was announced by Carso Motors, the official supplier of Chery models in the Israeli market. The vehicle comes to Israel with a 1.6-liter turbocharged engine with a capacity of 186 hp, in two versions and at very favorable prices (according to the supplier). The cost of the entry-level version starts from 167,990 shekels, while the top-end version costs from 179,990 shekels. If this is true, the Chinese SUV is ready to compete with the Mitsubishi Outlander (its price starts from 186,338 shekels) or Skoda Kodiaq (its price starts from 190,928 shekels), which are among the leaders in the mid-size SUV segment. And in terms of equipment, the ‘Chinese’ looks even more preferable.
What can it offer?
The new Chery Tiggo 8 Pro has a length of 4,722 mm, a width of 1,860 mm, a height of 1,705 mm and a wheelbase of 2,710 mm. Compared to the Czech SUV, the 7-seater Skoda Kodiaq is slightly longer (by 25 mm) and has a slightly longer wheelbase, 2,788 mm. The headlights of the Chinese model are equipped with the Adaptive Front Light System (AFS): the beams follow the movements of the steering wheel and react to the direction indicators. The wheels are 18-inch. The vehicle is equipped with a sunroof and tinted windows.
The entry-level version already offers the leather upholstered interior. The front panel features two 12.3-inch screens combined into a single unit. There is a projection screen (most likely it will be included in the top-end version). The air conditioning is separate, with access to the second row, controlled using a separate 8-inch touchscreen. The multimedia system with an extension for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay runs on the updated Smart car Butler 4.0 software platform, which is more modern when working with the Internet. There are 3 USB connectors (only one is on the back). The transmission lever has a spectacular backlight. It is specified that the SUV is equipped with the ecological system C-Pure, which controls the quality of the air inside. Additionally, the list of equipment includes a Sony sound system, an electric handbrake, a smart key, light and rain sensors, and heated front seats with an electrically adjustable driver’s seat. The second row of the Chery Tiggo 8 Pro seats is split 40/60 and the seats can be moved forward/backward to increase space in the third row. The third row itself is small, suitable for passengers not taller than 1.7 meters.
The top-end version also includes a digital dashbord, electric tailgate and front passenger seat, ventilated front seats, air conditioning for the third row, voice control of the multimedia system and much more. In the area of safety, all trim levels include autonomous braking, an active lane departure control system, adaptive cruise control, a blind spot monitoring system, including when reversing, etc.
The 2023 Chery Tiggo 8 Pro arrives in Israel with a 1.6-liter turbocharged engine that produces 186 hp and 282 Nm in the 2,000-4,500 rpm range. The engine is mated to a 7-speed robotic gearbox, transmitting power only to the front wheels. The SUV accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 9.1 seconds, while the top speed is 183 km/h. You can travel 12.6 km on one liter of fuel in the mixed cycle.
Israel will become the 22nd country where Chery sells its vehicles outside of China. The Chinese company intends to provide us with its best SUVs: the Chery FX (former Omoda 5), Chery Tiggo 7 Pro and Tiggo 8 Pro. Find more details here.
