Chevrolet TrailBlazer. 3rd generation, 2023 restyling
In February 2023, Chevrolet introduced the restyled version of the 3rd generation Chevrolet TrailBlazer, a compact SUV that replaced the classic TrailBlazer back in 2020. The newcomer and a large body-on-frame SUV, which was produced in the USA since 2001 and received the Truck of the Year award, share nothing but a name. The 2023 Chevrolet TrailBlazer is built on a different platform, from different components and represents a completely different segment of compact SUVs, competing with the Kia Seltos, Mazda CX-30, etc. But, probably, exclusively for image purposes, it is positioned as a successor of glorious genetic line. The updated 2023 Chevrolet TrailBlazer received new exterior, modernized interior and modern equipment, but has kept the same engines. The cost and terms of delivery to Israel of the restyled version are not yet known.
The new 3rd generation 2020 Chevrolet TrailBlazer is offered at a price of 157,111 shekels (as of the end 2022). The SUV is equipped with a 1.3-liter turbo gasoline engine with a capacity of 155 hp paired with a CVT and front-wheel drive. There is also an all-wheel drive version.
Exterior
Chevrolet itself claims that the restyled SUV is ‘in line with the company’s latest design language’, which has already been tested on the recently introduced Chevrolet Trax. Indeed, the new 2023 Trailblazer looks more dynamic and modern, but the overall shape is basically the same as that of the previous model. The front end features a different bumper, other daytime running lights, and chrome trim. Moreover, separate headlights and a bumper have not critically changed their shape. The rear end has hardly changed, only the taillights have been adjusted. But the rims now look different. As before, you can choose the RS trim level, which makes the vehicle look sportier both outside and inside.
Interior
In 2023, the SUV will be offered in 5- or 7-seater versions. The design of the upper part of the dashboard has been updated, an 8-inch digital instrument screen has replaced the analog one, the new multimedia system has received an 11-inch screen, wireless connection to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and the ability to update over the air. The model has acquired new modern options, such as a smart key, climate control, heated front seats, electric front seats, etc. The safety system has also been upgraded by adding adaptive cruise control to electronic assistants.
Powertrains
The 2023 restyling has not touched the engines: the new Chevrolet TrailBlazer is still equipped with a base 1.2-liter turbo engine with 137 hp. There is also a 1.3-liter turbo engine with a capacity of 155 hp, which is familiar to Israel. Both are paired with a stepless variator. The 1.3 Turbo 4X4 all-wheel drive version is equipped with a 9-speed automatic gearbox. The average fuel consumption is 7.6-8.4 liters per 100 km, depending on the modification.
