Volvo XC60 SUV. 2nd generation, 2021 restyling
The Volvo XC60 is a dynamic mid-size SUV manufactured by Volvo Cars (Sweden) since 2008. It can be both front- and all-wheel drive. There are also hybrid versions. In 2021, Israeli buyers have a chance to purchase the second generation XC60 after the 2021 restyling. The date of commencement of production of the restyled XC60, which belongs to the 2022 model range, is the end of May 2021.
The beginning of 2021 has become particularly successful for Volvo Cars due to an incredible sales growth. And the XC60 has played an important role in this, as its first and second generations have always been the leaders in the luxury mid-size SUV market segment. Since 2009, the model has been the most popular in Volvo’s range, and by the end of 2020, more than 1.68 million units have already been sold worldwide. A dynamic mid-size SUV with Scandinavian design and innovative technologies conquered the whole world. This Scandinavian vehicle is the perfect combination of elegance and power, safety and comfort.
Exterior and interior
After the restyling in 2021, the Volvo XC60 has acquired a new design, a redesigned interior, and a new composition of additional equipment packages. Exterior is an important factor in choosing a vehicle. The designers of the Swedish company have finalized the exterior design, equipping their SUV with a new radiator grille, a new front bumper, and hidden exhaust pipes. The vehicle offers new body colors and rims.
The interior is finished with new luxurious materials, featuring the City Weave textile upholstery, which is eco-friendly, as opposed to natural leather. The restyled vehicle has a new automatic transmission selector.
Technologies
The engines are the same, with three options still being offered in Israel: a T8 hybrid version (390 hp, automatic transmission) and two mild B5 hybrid versions (based on a 250 hp petrol engine and a 235 hp diesel engine). All the vehicles are four-wheel drive.
The safety of the new XC60, which has always been important for the company, is ensured by the latest ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) sensor platform. Volvo Cars' advanced active safety system consists of a set of cameras, radars and ultrasonic sensors. The ADAS platform allows the implementation of such active safety functions as recognition of other road users, automatic braking and collision avoidance. It also provides gentle driver assistance through the Pilot Assist function, which is activated immediately after starting the vehicle from standstill.
The list of options that ensure comfort includes the new media system based on the Android Automotive OS platform, which supports all the usual Google services and the remote updating via wireless data transmission.
