GMC Canyon pickup truck. 2nd generation 2014
GMC Canyon-compact or mid-size pickup truck, which is produced by the American brand GMC from 2003 to the present (data for 2021). This is a joint development of GM plants in North America and Brazil with the participation of Isuzu. The canyon is characterized by a fairly modest configuration, a relatively small number of modifications and updates. Although the Canyon is not produced outside of America, it has fans in many countries around the world, including Israel.
The second-generation GMC Canyon was unveiled at the 2014 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, and production sales began in 2015. It should be noted that the Canyon of 2011 was not the most successful model, and in the competitive battle lost to all, especially to such serious ‘players’ as Toyota Tacoma and Nissan Frontier. Therefore, the release of the second generation was urgently needed. And judging by the user reviews, the second Canyon has become really better.
Versions
The 2014 GMC Canyon is still the same compact pickup truck for the harsh working American everyday life, but bigger in size, more productive, more comfortable and with some advanced technology.
The basic SL model has been significantly upgraded in terms of comfort-there is a four-position driver’s seat with an electric drive, the ability to remove the rear folding seats, an angle-adjustable steering wheel, power windows, a rear-view camera and a six-speaker audio system with a 4.2-inch screen, a USB port.
The exterior is complemented by 16-inch alloy wheels, headlights with LED daytime running lights, exterior mirrors with built-in spotters.
The American Institute of Highway Safety gave the second-generation Canyon the highest possible score on a crash test.
In addition, there is an opportunity to get additional options – remote door opening, cruise control, heated rear window, anti-theft system, upgraded audio system with an additional audio input, Bluetooth phone, audio communication and voice control, and much more.
The developers paid maximum attention to the most popular SLE model. For example, the off-road All-Terrain package was offered only for the GMC Canyon SLE: 17-inch alloy wheels, all-terrain tires, specialized suspension, automatic rear differential lock, hill descent control, plus the Convenience package - automatic climate control and the ability to remotely start the engine.
