Citroen C3 Hatchback. 3rd generation, 2020 restyling
The Citroen C3 is a compact B segment car manufactured by Citroen (France) that forms part of the PSA Peugeot Citroen. It has been produced since 2001. In 2020, a restyled version of the third generation of the 2020 hatchback entered the Israeli market (as of 2021).
The restyled version of the third generation Citroen C3 was unveiled on February 11, 2020 at the Geneva Motor Show. The compact hatchback is the best-selling model of the French brand and is included in the top 5 of the best compact B segment cars. The third generation has been chosen by more than 750 thousand buyers since its release in 2016 (as of 2020). It probably didn’t make much sense to restyle such a popular car. But the French manufacturer decided otherwise and upgraded their bestseller, doing it carefully and taking into account the wishes of the owners and with an eye to competitors.
Distinctive features
The 2020 restyled model has not changed much. But it has become more customizable. Prior to the restyling, there were 36 body color combinations, and after it, the car has acquired 97 color options. You can combine seven body colors, four roof colors and the same number of decorative packages.
The new Citroen C3 looks slightly different from the previous one, a little more stylish and modern. It features new LED headlights, a modified bumper and an adjusted logo. The side doors have got new Airbump covers with three large sections. Large 17-inch wheels are now available for the compact car.
The interior has undergone minimal changes. The interior is particularly distinguished by the branded seats. Citroen, as part of the Advanced Comfort program, monitors competitors and identifies weaknesses. This is how the new, almost perfect seats came about. They comprise a thicker layer of soft foam and a new carcass. A folding armrest is offered for the driver’s seat. In addition, the list of optional equipment now includes a front parking sensor, automatic braking system and driver fatigue control.
Engines
In Israel, the 2020/2021 Citroen C3 comes with a 1.2-liter turbocharged petrol engine with 110 hp, supplemented by a 6-speed automatic transmission. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h occurs in 10 seconds, while the maximum possible speed is 193 km/h. According to the manufacturer, the average fuel consumption is 4.9 liters per 100 km. The car is front-wheel drive. The clearance of the hatchback is small, 145 mm.
Trim levels
All 2021/2022 Citroen C3 models come to Israel with tinted glass, folding rear seats and LED headlights. The list of standard equipment includes a Bluetooth-enabled multimedia system compatible with Carplay, 6-speaker audio system, heated side mirrors, 1-zone climate control, and a multi-steering wheel. The top-end trim level will include a two-tone body, navigation and other options.
Safety is ensured by 6 airbags, cruise control, rear parking sensors, anti-lock and traction control systems, vehicle dynamic control, brake assist and collision avoidance systems, lane keeping assist and a driver fatigue sensor.
