With it, the fourth Civic Type R accelerated in 5.7 seconds. The chassis of the fourth generation is completely made of aluminum. A self-locking high-friction differential is installed on the front axle. On the steering wheel of the fourth Honda Civic Type R, a ‘+R " button appeared, when pressed, all the sports characteristics of the car were revealed. The new Type R uses a 2-liter VTEC turbo engine, but its power is increased to 320 hp. The acceleration time to 100 km / h is 5.7 seconds, and the maximum speed has increased from 270 to 272 km/h.
Honda Civic Type R 2017/2018 got a rear multi-link suspension instead of a twisting beam. MacPherson struts are reconfigured to reduce the unpleasant effect of power thrusters. The results of the changes to the rear multi-link are reduced rolls and stability even under heavy braking. Three driving modes are now available: Comfort, Sport and Track +R.
