The Honda Jazz is a B-class passenger car from the Japanese automaker Honda Motor, produced since 2002. Today in the Israeli market, you can buy the third generation of Hatchback 5-doors Honda Jazz after the restyling of 2017.

Honda Jazz is a compact and versatile car that is very popular in Europe. In Japan, China, North and South America, Honda Jazz is known by the name Fit. And under the name Jazz is sold in Europe, some Asian countries, Australia, Oceania, the Middle East and Africa. At home, Honda Jazz was twice chosen ‘Car of the Year’ - in 2001 and in 2007. There are modifications with a hybrid power plant-Fit/Jazz Hybrid, and with an electric motor-Fit EV.

The first generation

The first generation Honda Jazz was produced from 2002 to 2009, having been restyled in 2005. The name ‘Jazz’ can not be called new, because the car with the same name was produced by Honda in the 80s of the 20th century. In Europe, sales of the new Jazz began only in 2003, and in Japan, this model was sold since 2001 under the name Fit and enjoyed great popularity, coming out in one year on the first place in terms of sales. And this was the first time in the history of the company Honda!

In Japan, the Honda Jazz was chosen ‘Car of the Year’ twice - in 2001 and in 2007.

The first Jazz was built on a completely new platform. Engineers from the Japanese company Honda decided to create a car that will combine the features of a minivan, hatchback and minivan. That is why the Honda Jazz is often called a high-capacity car. The first Jazz had a 5-door hatchback body, in the Japanese market it was available in both front and all-wheel drive versions, and in Europe only the front-wheel drive version was delivered.

The design of the car could be called unusual, although it was not too pretentious. Honda Jazz very quickly became recognizable in the flow of cars. Such original details as spotlights, as well as a ribbed hood helped to recognize Jazz for many hundreds of meters. The taillights were made in such a way that it seems as if they consist of 3 parts.

The second generation

The second-generation Honda Jazz was produced from 2008 to 2015, going through a facelift in 2011. The second Jazz, assembled on a new platform, received a new appearance and more advanced engines. The first generation was so successful that the developers of the car were simply afraid to make any revolutionary changes, so the second Jazz became a logical continuation of the first. It became slightly more spacious, received a more expressive front part of the body, a new radiator grille and thin side pillars that did not limit the view for the driver. As a result, the car became even safer and more comfortable to drive. The huge glazing area of the Honda Jazz is an undoubted advantage of the second generation.

The third generation

The third generation Honda Jazz is produced from 2015 to the present, having received a restyling in 2017. The third Jazz received a fully transformable interior. It was a real breakthrough for its time! The appearance of the third-generation Honda Jazz has undergone significant changes-there are other headlights, a more streamlined bumper, new taillights. Excellent visibility was preserved, aerodynamics and handling became better, and the long base for the wheels allowed the designers to create more free space for passengers inside the cabin.

The new Honda Jazz 2019/2020 hatchback can be called the perfect car for the city. Compact size, low fuel consumption, practicality, excellent handling - the key qualities of this small Japanese car.

In 2020, a new generation of the Honda Jazz subcompact is expected to be released, which, as the Japanese say, will be completely subordinated to the design philosophy ‘Yoo no bi’ - ‘beauty in everyday life’. The new Honda Jazz 2020/2021 will be the most practical and convenient. It will have reduced functionality to a minimum-only the most necessary things will remain. It will get a minimalistic design. The interior will retain the same philosophy of practicality: durable materials made of water-repellent fabric, and the materials of the dashboard are soft and pleasant to the touch.
