Hyundai i20. Fuel-efficient car for the highway and city
Hyundai i20 is a compact B class passenger vehicle from the South Korean automobile maker, Hyundai Motor, produced since 2008. In 2020, Israeli buyers could purchase the 2020 third generation 5-door hatchback.
The first generation
The first generation Hyundai i20 was produced from 2008 to 2014, and it was restyled in 2012. The first i20 to replace the Hyundai Getz was built on a completely new platform designed at Hyundai’s European Technical Center in Germany. The body could be either 3 or 5-door. The first i20 became longer, wider and lower than the Getz, with an increased wheelbase, roomier interior and larger trunk space. After the restyling in 2012, the first Hyundai i20 got a spoiler under the front bumper, a communication system with the driver’s mobile phone and more environmentally friendly and fuel-efficient engines.
The second generation
The second generation Hyundai i20 was produced from 2014 and was restyled in 2018. Until recently, it was available on the market, despite the release of the third generation in 2020. The model range included three-door and five-door versions, as well as a ‘pseudo-crossover’ version of the Hyundai i20 Active with a decorative body kit and increased ground clearance. The second i20 had an all-new ‘Fluidic Sculpture 2.0’ design, which was re-conceptualized at Hyundai’s European Technical Center in Rüsselsheim. Along with the new exterior and interior design, the vehicle boasted a new engine, as well as the increased ground clearance and volume of loading space.
According to test drive results, the 2020 Hyundai i20 will be able to easily accelerate and travel both in the city and on the highways, while its fuel consumption will be lower than that of most competitors.
The third generation
The third generation Hyundai i20 has been produced from 2020 to the present. The third i20 boasts a bold design, a fairly comfortable interior and slightly improved engine room characteristics, thanks to which the operation of the vehicle in urban conditions should become pleasant and fuel efficient. The new Hyundai i20 looks sportier and more expensive, demonstrating upgraded relief and lighting technology, as well as prettier and more efficient air intakes. The heavily tilted windshield now looks huge. The interior design of the new 2020 i20 hatchback is of good quality. Fabric, plastic and artificial leather are the primary finishing materials. The controls and seats are very ergonomic, and the modern multimedia system and assistants will not let you get bored on a long journey. The dash board is now able to give the driver the maximum amount of information about the current state of the car. The wells of tachometer and speedometer look very stylish, and there is a small but bright display of the on-board computer between these two.
