Crossover Maserati Levante. 1st generation, restyling 2020
Maserati Levante (Levante) is an all-wheel drive crossover from the Italian brand Maserati, which belongs to the Italian-American concern ‘Fiat Chrysler Automobiles’. Maserati’s first premium production crossover. It has been produced since 2016. The first generation of the crossover after 2020 restyling is available in Israel in 2021.
The 5-door 5-seater crossover of 2020 has the following dimensions: length is 5020 mm, width is 1981 mm, height is 1698 mm, wheelbase is 3004 mm. Trunk volume is from 580 to 1625 liters maximum.
The updated Maserati Levante has a brutal appearance and an ultra-comfortable interior. This allows you to effectively use the car in the city and outside the city. In addition to the updated exterior and interior, the car has excellent technical characteristics that allow it to be faster and more economical than the previous model and its competitors.
Exterior
At the front, there is almost nothing to remind that this is a crossover. The rather long front end of the Levante is low enough to significantly improve the already good aerodynamic characteristics. In addition, starting approximately from the center, the front of the car is very strongly rounded. The updated model has a hood with a stepped relief gradually lowering towards the sides. Under the hood, there is a radiator grille that resembles a royal crown. There is a trident in the center of it, which is the emblem of the company. The headlights are located on either side of it, like wide blades facing outward. Moreover, LED daytime running lights to serve as handles. The lattice itself is strictly perpendicular to the road. There are round lensed fog lights under the headlights.
The front bumper is a grid structure with multiple air intakes in between. The largest has a trapezoidal shape and is located directly under the horizontal bumper strength element, parallel to the grille. It is filled with fine mesh, just like the diffusers that are located on the sides of it. There is a dark-colored crankcase guard in the lower part of the bumper.
There is a lot of undulating relief and other decorations on the side. The stylish side windows are split and framed by thin high-gloss black stripes. Side mirrors are equipped with horizontal turn signals in any trim version. Large convex wheel arches have a circular rim, and the wheels are original alloy wheels of large diameter and low-profile rubber. There are branded swept cutouts slightly above the front arches, three on each side. The thresholds are embossed.
A wide visor is installed at the rear above the large glass of the tailgate, which acts as a spoiler. The convex part is below the glazing. There are the rear lights, divided into two parts, which are connected by a narrow chrome molding. The name of the model is written above it in silvery letters. Trapezoidal stamping with illumination under the license plate is under it. The rear bumper protrudes outward convexly. Narrow horizontal red LED foglights are inserted into it on the sides. They have a raised outline. The rectangular element is made below. It resembles a fighter jet’s nozzle with powerful rectangular exhaust pipes. The metalized underbody protection is visible even lower.
Interior
Salon Maserati Levante 2020 is fully leather with metal and wood accents. The dashboard is covered in leather and is split in two by a color-coded center console. The compact instrument panel is covered with a large protruding visor. There are a tachometer and a speedometer under it in separate tunnels. There is an onboard computer screen in between. The three-spoke steering wheel has an ergonomic shape and a comfortable grip. You can customize it for yourself. Service buttons are located on the horizontal spokes of the steering wheel. An analog clock, traditional for the Italian brand, is placed at the head of the center console. Below, at the level of the steering wheel, there is a large touchscreen multimedia screen, on the sides of which there are two airflow deflectors. A panel with buttons and knobs for separate climate control is located under it.
The main tunnel is perpendicular to the console. There is a large niche with a damper in its front part. Closer to the driver’s seat, there is a horizontal panel where there are: the gear lever, transmission control buttons, an electronic handbrake, and a large setting washer. A similarly sized panel with a flap is located on the passenger side. There are cup holders and niches for different little things. Each front seat with excellent lateral support comes with a separate armrest. There is a large glove compartment with a refrigerator underneath.
Modifications
Both gasoline and diesel models of the 2020/2021 Maserati Levante crossover are supplied to Israel. Engines 3-liter V6 or V8, equipped with a turbocharger. Gasoline engines are V6 with 350 and 430 hp. and V8 with 530 and 580 hp. The diesel version is the only one with a capacity of 275 hp. All motors are paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission from ZF. The most powerful version Levante Trofeo with a 580-hp. V8 engine is capable of a maximum speed of 302 km/h, and acceleration time from 0 km/h to 100 km/h is 4.1 seconds. The most economical is the 275-hp. V6 diesel. The average fuel consumption is 8.3 liters per 100 km.
The crossover is equipped with a Q4 all-wheel drive system and a limited-slip differential at the rear for better handling as standard. Also, the new Maserati Levante is equipped with air suspension, which allows you to change the car’s ground clearance and adaptive shock absorbers. Due to these systems, the car can easily cope with any road conditions.
Trim versions
All models are delivered to Israel with a sunroof and tinted windows, sun shades in the rear doors and on the rear window, sills and roof rails, and a base metallic color. The crossover has at least 6 airbags, a rear camera, adaptive cruise control, front and rear parking sensors, active power steering, anti-lock braking system and stabilization system, brake assist and traction control system, collision avoidance system, blind spot monitoring, and road recognition system characters as standard.
Navigation, Hi-Fi audio system, many electric adjustments, including hands-free opening of the trunk, heated front, and rear seats and washer nozzles, leather interior, electronic instrument panel, multifunction steering wheel with paddle shifters, multi-zone climate control, keyless access, and many other useful options complete the image of the 2021 Maserati Levante luxury crossover.
