Mercedes E-class is a series of business-class passenger cars of the German brand Mercedes-Benz which has been produced since 1984. The fifth-generation E-class of the 2016 model year in sedan and coupe bodies is available on the Israeli market in 2020.

The 2016/2017 2-door 5-seat coupe has dimensions: it’s 4826 mm long, 1860 mm wide, the wheelbase is 2873 mm, and the trunk volume is 420 liters.

Distinctive features

On video: Mercedes E-Class 2016 year. Coupe.

The fifth generation of the Mercedes E-class coupe is surprisingly similar to the C-class and S-class coupes, but it also has some distinctive features, such as a third triangular side window, thinner taillights, a more impressive bonnet, and smoother side lines of the body. But the most important thing is that the new E-class in the coupe body is larger than the C-class coupe and of course less than the S-class. Compared to its predecessor, the new E-class coupe has increased in size, and inside there is much more space due to the increased size of the body.

The interior of the E-Class Coupe looks more like the S-Class. For example, in the E and S classes in the coupe, there are four air vents inside the cabin on the center console, while in the C-class there are only three. The dashboard and center console of the E and S class coupes are almost the same. The differences between the sedan and the E-class coupe inside, perhaps, in the design of the air duct deflectors, in the coupe they are stylized as turbine wheels. There is one new curious function of the rear lights: when the car is disarmed, the LED strips light up sequentially from the center to the edges, and they light up in reverse. This function available only on the front optics on the E-class sedan.

Modifications

Two modifications of the Mercedes E-class coupe are supplied to Israel. They are E 300 and E 450 4MATIC. Both are capable of accelerating the car to 250 km/h. Both come with a 9-speed automatic transmission. The first is equipped with a back-wheel drive and a 2-liter gasoline turbo engine of 258 hp with in-line cylinders. It’s capable of accelerating from a stanstill to 100 km/h in 6.4 seconds. The all-wheel drive model is equipped with a 6-cylinder V-shaped 2 litters gasoline turbo engine with a capacity of 367 hp. It accelerates to 100 km/h in 5.1 seconds.

Trim versions

2019/2020 Mercedes E-Class Coupe comes with AMG trim. It is equipped with a sunroof and a panoramic roof, decorative interior lighting, pedals and sills, an interior trimmed with faux leather, LED headlights, and an adaptive lighting system.

There are at least 7 airbags, central locking, all-round camera, adaptive cruise control, driving mode selection system, almost a complete package of electronic driver assistance systems, including a driver fatigue sensor, blind spot monitoring, and lane control, a brake assist system and collision avoidance, ESP stabilization system, and front & rear parking sensors with automatic parking in the basic options.

Modern multimedia system with Android Auto and Carplay support, Bluetooth and USB, navigation, audio system, active power steering, 2-zone climate control, advanced power accessories for adjustments and heating, engine start from a button, keyless access, multifunction steering wheel with paddle shifters gears, start-stop system and hands-free opening of the trunk will make your trip in the new Mercedes E-class coupe truly comfortable!
