Distinctive features
The main distinctive feature of the third generation G-class vehicles in comparison with the older versions is that from feisty and aggressive-looking off-roaders they turned into more elegant and somewhat exquisite cars. The exterior of the Mercedes G-class 2018/2019 model did not change that much – it has still got that square shape to it with its familiar silhouette. While keeping the old look of the car, the designers also managed to incorporate some more advanced technological features into it. The radiator grille of the car is now chrome-trimmed, with a bigger three-pointed star ‘Mercedes’ logo on it. Above the logo, there is now a front view camera slightly tilted forward. All trim version of the model offer round adaptive LED headlights with some additional LED running lights around them. And these are only the few of the many changes that have been implemented! The windows of the car are now glued in instead of being attached to a rubber seal, the roof is laser welded, etc. And as for the passenger compartment, it has considerably improved its comfort characteristics and functionality as well, despite keeping its original ‘rough’ look. Apart from the look, the new Mercedes G-class model has also retained its fantastic off-road capabilities as well as its legendary cross-country performance.

There are both gasoline and diesel motor versions of the new four-wheel drive Mercedes SUV model. The gasoline turbine motor is 4 liters in volume and has a power capacity of 422 hp, allowing the vehicle to reach speeds of up to 210 km/h, its ‘0 to 100 km/h’ being about 5,9 seconds. Diesel turbine motors are all 3 liters in volume but can have different power capacities of 249, 286, or 330 hp.
