Six-meter diesel SUV will be exported
On February 18, 2023, Dongfeng will unveil the Mengshi M20 body-on-frame off-rod vehicle. The SUV is part of the Warrior model range (‘Warrior’ means Mengshi in Chinese), based on the pickup of the same name, released in 2021, which was actually copied under license from the legendary Hummer. It is expected that the newcomer will become the largest model from the manufacturer: it is 6 meters long. The six-meter diesel SUV will be exported and will conquer different markets of the world.
Warrior is a series of Dongfeng military vehicles. In 2022, the company launched a civilian version of a pickup called the M50 with a 4.0-liter turbocharged diesel engine with 200 hp and 600 Nm.
The new DongFeng Mengshi M20 has received a body-on-frame structure and a 6.7-liter turbocharged diesel engine from Cummins. Such engines are usually used by trucks, produced under license and used in army vehicles. The engine has a capacity of 314 hp, produces a huge torque of 1,050 Nm and ‘cooperates’ with a 6-speed automatic gearbox. The model is all-wheel drive and features an independent spring suspension. The maximum speed of the giant vehicle is 140 km/h.
Although the vehicle has inherited the Hummer’s structure, it has more complex shapes, which make it look more attractive and original. The new Mengshi M20 is 5,970 mm long, 2,160 mm wide and 2,155 mm high. The wheelbase is 3,700 mm. And the ground clearance is 400 mm. The large vehicle weighs 3,750 kg, while it has an excellent loading capacity of 2 tons. We will tell you more about the SUV after its premiere.
