We have some sad and happy news for speed lovers. Aston Martin is going to return the V12 Vantage powered by the same engine as the V12 Speedster supercar. It will return only to bid farewell. The British company clarifies that this is the Final Edition. The new car will end the era of 12-cylinder engines forever, and then the brand will switch to electrifying its models. The first electric car is expected around 2025.

Aston Martin DB2 Vantage Coupe 1950–01.1951.

Aston Martin’s most powerful modifications were called “Vantage”. The first was the DB2 Vantage coupe (1951) with a 2.6 liter inline 6-cylinder engine. In 1977, the Vantage became a separate model with a V8 engine (5.3 liters, 380-457 hp). In 1999, the DB7 Vantage started featuring a huge 5.9-liter V12 engine with an output of 426 hp and 542 Nm of torque. In 2013, an even more powerful V12 Vantage S was introduced with an engine producing 573 hp and 620 Nm.

The current V8 Vantage was unveiled in 2017. In Israel, the sports car is available with a 4-liter V8 biturbo engine producing 510 hp and 685 Nm of torque. Acceleration to the first 100 km/h occurs in just 3.6 seconds. The maximum speed is 314 km/h. And this car will feature a 5.2-liter biturbo engine, which is also installed on the Speedster model and produces 700 hp and 753 Nm, which are transmitted to the rear wheels through an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission and a limited slip differential. The V12 Speedster accelerates to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds and has a top speed of 300 km/h.

This is not the first special series. In March 2021, the manufacturer introduced the Vantage F1 Edition with a 4.0-liter AMG V8 biturbo engine with an output of 535 hp, coupled with an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission. The car received an additional front splitter, a large spoiler and underbody pads that increase downforce.
