Tesla’s Cyberquad electric ATV is available for sale
On December 1, 2021, Tesla began selling the Cyberquad for Kids. The recommended minimum age is 8 years and older. The electric ATV is available for order on Tesla’s website and starts at $1,900, but so far only residents of the 48 contiguous U.S. states will be able to buy it. Deliveries are expected to begin in 2-4 weeks, but Tesla has already warned that they may not be able to deliver the ATV before the Christmas holidays. A few hours after the start of sales, the first batch of Cyberquad for Kids was completely sold out, but don’t worry, the ATV went on sale again on December 2.
The full-fledged version of Cyberquad for adults was first shown at the first Cybertruck presentation in 2019. Then it was announced as an additional product, demonstrating the vehicle capacity. Tesla has not previously announced its plans on releasing the children’s version. Then, for two years, almost no mention was made of it, and suddenly, quite unexpectedly, the Cyberquad for Kids came out. Just like other Tesla electric cars, the ATV runs on a lithium-ion battery, and so far this is the cheapest Tesla.
The Cyberquad has a driving range of 24 km and a top speed of 16 km/h. Plus, it will take you 5 hours to fully charge the vehicle
According to Elon Musk, this ATV will be the safest in the world: ‘It will have a very low center of gravity because the battery pack is going to be down low. (…) When an ATV is rolling is when bad things happen. It’s going to be the ATV that won’t roll’. The release of the children’s version before the start of sales was not announced.
In terms of design, the ATV looks similar to the futuristic Cybertruck pickup, featuring the same colors and angular body shape. The Cyberquad for Kids is built on a steel monolithic frame. It is equipped with an adjustable suspension with a rear disc brake. The ATV weighs 55 kg. Its top speed is 16 km/h and the battery provides a driving range of 24 km. There are three speed modes: 8 km/h, 16 km/h and reverse at 8 km/h. Battery life varies depending on the driver’s weight, driving conditions and speed setting. It will take you about 5 hours to fully charge the vehicle.
