Volvo V60 2018. Exterior part. Estate 5-door, 2 generation

The Volvo V60 is a mid-class estate manufactured by Volvo Cars (Sweden) since 2010. In 2018, the second generation of the car was released. Estates have always been very important to Volvo. In some markets, these cars were even more popular than sedans! In 2021, Israeli buyers have a chance to purchase a very interesting version of this car, called the V60 Recharge PHEV T8.

The car is very eye-catching, featuring the signature Thor’s Hammer headlights, “strong-willed” bumper jaw with a protruding lower part, a long hood, huge wheel arches, and very beautiful taillights. The sloping roofline and strokes on the sides emphasize the streamlined design of the new Volvo V60. The body length is 4,761 mm. The wheelbase reaches 2,872 mm, and the width and height are 1,850 (excluding mirrors) and 1,427 mm, respectively.

Interior

One of the most spacious estates in its class, the new Volvo V60 has a trunk volume of 529 liters when measured to the glass line or 841 liters when measured to the roof level, and if you fold the seats down, the volume will increase to 1,364 liters. Such an amazing amount of space was achieved thanks to the almost vertical sidewalls of the car: in cross-section, the car is close to a rectangle, and not a trapezoid like most others.

Powertrains

The hybrid is rechargeable and very powerful. When paired with a turbocharged petrol 4-cylinder engine (303 hp), the total power of the powertrain is 390 hp and 640 Nm. There is an 87 hp electric motor rotating the rear wheels and a 10.4 kW/h battery in a massive central tunnel. All hybrid cars are equipped with an 8-speed automatic transmission, and only four-wheel drive version is sold in Israel.

Equipment

In terms of equipment range, the 2019/2020 Volvo V60 is not inferior to the premium class. The standard equipment of the estate includes: dual-zone climate control, Volvo Sensus infotainment system with a 9-inch touchscreen (Bluetooth support, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, 4G, navigation); remote control central locking, multifunction steering wheel, electronic parking brake, 12.3-inch Active TFT Display dashboard and much more. Traveling comfort will be provided by the front seats with electric controls and position memory, as well as by the heated rear seats.

In terms of safety, the 2020/2021 Volvo V60 offers a wide range of advanced active safety systems from Volvo’s arsenal, capable of recognizing other road users, including pedestrians, cyclists and large animals. The electronics can stop the car itself in order to avoid an accident. For this purpose, there is the City Safety system, which allows you to identify objects on the way, as well as apply braking if necessary. Circular monitoring of the situation is ensured by the IntelliSafe Surround system, which warns of side obstacles when leaving an intersection or a parking lot, and the Pilot Assist package is able to control the steering wheel, the accelerator and brake at speeds up to 130 km/h when driving on roads with clearly visible markings. Apart from a full arsenal of airbags and standard electronic systems (ABS, ESP, etc.), the Volvo estate will offer you a panoramic roof with a remote control sunroof and a Harman Kardon Premium sound system with 14 speakers (600 W).
