Volvo introduces new wireless updates
In September 2021, Volvo redesigned its logo to mark its vision for the future. Volvo cars must be designed in such a way that they can be easily improved in the future. The first over-the-air (OTA) update for Volvo electric cars will be released in a few days. The notification of its readiness will be sent to the screens of the car multimedia systems.
The first update is targeted at owners of the XC40 Recharge electric vehicles, as well as the 2022 model year cars: XC60, XC60 Recharge and XC60 Polestar Engineered. The new infotainment software includes Sirus XM radio bug fixes.
Another advantage of the new software is that it extends the range of electric vehicles by updating the powertrain program. Volvo does not indicate an exact driving range increase, but it is following the path of Tesla, a pioneer in this process. Tesla has been ‘upgrading’ its models over-the-air for nearly a decade (since September 2012). We are sure others will follow Volvo.
