100,000 rental vehicles from Tesla and autonomous driving issues
By the end of 2022, 100,000 electric rental vehicles from Tesla may appear on the roads of Israel and other countries. It was announced by the car rental company Hertz. The company has ordered Tesla electric vehicles for its fleet for a total of $4.4 billion. To date, this is the biggest-ever order for the purchase of electric vehicles. The Hertz automobile fleet already has 500 thousand vehicles all over the world, and now Elon Musk’s electric vehicles will be added to them. Moreover, Hertz promises to install charging points in its branches. The company’s customers who have rented a Tesla will be able to use the high-speed charging network in Europe and the USA.
Following this news, Tesla has withdrawn its latest ‘full self-driving’ car software update less than a day after the start of its distribution. FSD 10.3 Beta included autonomous braking, autonomous overtaking and a number of other features. But so far it has been distributed only among select drivers in certain countries (this version is not available in Israel).
And now this update has been withdrawn. Tesla did not explain the reasons. ‘Seeing some issues with 10.3, so rolling back to 10.2 temporarily, ” Elon Musk said in a Twitter post. According to US media reports, the withdrawal is due to the complaints from drivers about false collision warnings.
