Volkswagen Polo is a compact B-class car from the German car manufacturer Volkswagen group, produced since 1975. In 2020, the 6th generation of the 2017 Polo in a 5-door hatchback was introduced to the Israeli market.
The 2017 5-door 5-seater hatchback is 4,053 mm long and 1,751 mm wide, with a wheelbase of 2,551 mm. The volume of the trunk is 351 liters.
Distinctive features
The new Polo has become larger. It has a more spacious interior, and a wide range of driver assistance systems. Now it is a modern car, much more masculine, adult, and emotional. Landing has become slightly lower, and all the tools and displays are located on the same visual axis. The completely new body of the 2017/2018 Volkswagen Polo was created on the corporate platform MQB-A0. Due to this, the car has become much more spacious, the size of the cabin and the volume of the trunk have increased. The body rigidity has increased by 28% compared to the previous generation model. The sixth Polo was the first Volkswagen car to be ordered with a new fully electronic dashboard.
Modifications
The new Volkswagen Polo hatchback is delivered to Israel in a front-wheel drive version with a 1-liter petrol turbo engine of two different otputs – 95 and 115 hp. The greatest interest is the modification, equipped with a 115-hp DSG engine, delivering a top speed of 200 km/h. 95-hp units allow to accelerate to 187 km/h. Fuel consumption, depending on the modification, is about 4.6 to 4.9 liters per 100 km. You can select both a car with a 5-speed manual transmission and with a 7-speed automatic one.
Trim versions
Israeli buyers of the 2019/2020 Volkswagen Polo are offered the standard version, which has everything you need. There are 6 airbags, backup camera, adaptive cruise control, ABS and ASR, driver fatigue sensor, lane-keeping aid, collision avoidance system, brake assist (BAS, EBD, EBA), and stabilization system.
In terms of comfort, the new Polo Standard is well equipped in the basic version: there are dual-zone climate control, active power steering, multifunctional steering wheel, a fuel-saving start/stop system, LED headlights, and an adaptive lighting system. For the modification of Polo with a 115-hp DSG engine, a panoramic roof, tinted windows and a slightly more expanded list of options are offered.
