AC Cobra GT. New materials, old spirit
The AC Cobra GT is a sports roadster inspired by the original Cobra of the 1960s. The new model by AC, the oldest British company, which celebrates its 122nd anniversary in 2023, has been developed for three years. The result is new materials, but old spirit. The car can already pre-ordered, with the price starting from 285,000 British pounds. It is assembled in Germany. The official premiere is scheduled for April 2023.

Exterior
The design was developed by Icona Design Group from Turin (Italy). The 2023 AC Cobra GT is quite recognizable, even taking into account the modern features: rounded bulging wings, round optics and a hood with a large air intake. There is no folding roof, but for a surcharge you can order a removable hard top and ride even in winter. Carbon fiber body panels are ‘put on’ on a space frame made of extruded aluminum, created by the Italian company Cecomp s.p.a. The new Cobra has turned out to be larger than the previous one: the body length has increased by 110 mm (up to 4,330 mm), the wheelbase has grown by 284 mm (up to 2,570 mm), the width reaches 1960 mm, and the height is 1,400 mm. Today it is the largest car in the history of the manufacturer. According to the creators, ‘even tall people will be comfortable inside’.
Interior
Electric windows, climate control, media system and navigation will take care of comfort. At the same time, the interior bears a reflection of the past and its style: a small sports three-spoke steering wheel, instrument scales. The finish is handcrafted.
Powertrains
The new AC Cobra GT comes with a 5.0-liter supercharged V8 engine that produces 663 hp and 780 Nm and is combined with a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 10-speed automatic gearbox. The car is rear-wheel drive. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds, while its maximum speed reaches 278 km/h. The car has an independent suspension, which was tuned with the assistance of a team of racers. The power steering is electric. The car feature sports brakes: 6-piston on the front axle and 4-piston on the rear.
