BMW 5 Series. Reliability, safety, comfort
In 2020, the manufacturer introduced the upgraded, seventh generation BMW 5 Series model.
BMW 5 Series is E-class cars from the German BMW concern, which has been produced since 1972. They belong to the business class. Nowadays the seventh generation of the BMW 5 Series sedan of the 2016 model year is available in the Israeli market.
BMW 5 Series ranks second in terms of the number of cars sold, followed by BMW 3 Series. The 5 millionth BMW 5 Series was made back in 2008. Models of the fifth series have always occupied a special place among BMW. It is the perfect compromise between dynamics, technical innovation, and price.

First generation
The first generation of BMW 5 Series was produced from 1972 to 1981. It was restyled in 1976. The first BMW 5 Series was a 4-door sedan. Second generation
The second generation of BMW 5 Series was produced from 1981 to 1987. The second BMW 5 Series was deeply modernized. Third generation

Fourth generation
The fourth generation of BMW 5 Series was produced from 1995 to 2004. It was restyled in 2000. The fourth BMW 5 Series received a new design in an aggressive style, which earned a lot of flattering reviews. Car enthusiasts loved the round headlights under the narrow fairings, the elegant rear part with powerful struts, and the signature radiator nostrils. The body has become larger, the overhangs are shorter. The steel body of the 5th generation BMW 5 Series added rigidity, which increased safety and improved handling. Fifth generation
The fifth generation of the BMW 5 Series was produced from 2003 to 2010. It restyled in 2007. The appearance of the fifth BMW 5 Series caused a culture shock among fans of the brand. The fifth generation of the 5 Series received an innovative body in addition to the striking appearance. The front of the body is made of aluminum, the rear of the body is made of steel, and they are connected by rivets. McPherson front struts and multi-link rear suspension are also made of aluminum to make the structure lighter.
Sixth generation
The sixth generation BMW 5 Series was produced from 2009 to 2017. It was restyled in 2013. In the sixth generation of BMW 5 Series, not only sedans and station wagons appeared for the first time, but also a 5-door 5 Series Gran Turismo liftback, and later a 4-door hybrid sedan 5 ActiveHybrid with an increased wheelbase appeared. Due to the use of aluminum body components, it was possible to reduce the weight of the 5-series car and improve aerodynamic characteristics. The 5-series sedan has one of the longest 2968 mm wheelbases in its class, due to the new platform. The sixth BMW 5 Series returned to the look of an elegant and conservative business class car, though with aggressive sporty features.
Seventh generation
The seventh generation BMW 5 Series in production from 2016 to the present. In addition to the 4-door sedan, which can be purchased in Israel now, the BMW 5 Series in Touring station wagon body has entered the market. Liftback removed from 5 series. The seventh generation of 5 Series shares the modular platform CLAR with the modern 7 Series. Suspension design also from 7 series. The dimensions, body lines, and optics of the new BMW 5 Series are also very similar to the flagship of the German brand.
