Citroën C4 SpaceTourer. A novel minivan
Citroën C4 SpaceTourer is a renamed (in 2018) 5-seat С4 Picasso compact van. Its 7-seat version was previously called C4 Grand Picasso. Now it’s called Citroën C4 Grand SpaceTourer. Citroën C4 Picasso has a long history. To avoid confusion, let’s mention the generations that were produced since March 2018 as Citroën C4 SpaceTourer and the earlier versions as Citroën C4 Picasso.
First generation
The first-generation C4 Picasso was born in 2007. Its 7-seat ‘brother’ - Grand C4 Picasso - was designed in 2006, and the 5-seat C4 Picasso took one more year to appear. 5-seater, build on the modular PSA PF2 platform is a ‘relative of’ Citroën C4 and Peugeot 307, but it’s roomier inside and has a brand new exterior: panoramic windshield, thin pillars, curved line of the side windows. A fixed-hub steering wheel and central location of the dashboard devices were characteristic of this generation. Active rear height control was available for extra cost.
Second generation
The second generation of the Citroën C4 Picasso appeared in 2013. The second C4 Picasso was already built on the PSA EMP2 platform where Peugeot 308 was born. This platform is much lighter than the previous one, so the C4 Picasso became lighter in weight. The volume of the trunk has increased up to 537 L, (or 630 L with folded back seats). The front passenger seat could also be folded down, allowing to carry even 2.5 meters long objects.
Roomy interior, transformation opportunities, acoustic comfort due to Pack Lounge and really comfortable air suspension make the new Citroen C4 SpaceTourer.
Restyling with a new name
The modernized C4 Picasso appeared in the fall of 2016, later it was renamed as Citroën C4 SpaceTourer. In March 2018 the brand new minivan (as the manufacturer declared) - Citroën C4 SpaceTourer - entered the market. It was the result of advanced technologies and creativity of Citroën. New Citroën C4 SpaceTourer 2018 is a modern minivan full of innovations. Modern smart driver’s assistants, great driving experience, philosophy of Citroën Advanced Comfort and low consumption make this car Citroën C4 SpaceTourer 2018.
The new design of the front side of the Citroën C4 SpaceTourer 2020 gives the car a dynamic look. The three-lever arrangement of the headlights has been retained as a symbol of modern Citroën. The grille is made in two parts, separated by a bumper in body color and new elongated headlights. The SpaceTourer is now equipped with 3D effect taillights. The newly designed double chevron in glossy black with chrome trim on the tailgate shows the progressive nature of the minivan. The new Citroën C4 SpaceTourer features a spacious interior, transformability, acoustic comfort (thanks to the Pack Lounge), and extremely comfortable suspension.
