Kia XCeed is a compact front-wheel drive 5-door SUV produced by the South Korean car manufacturer, Kia Motors, since June 2019. The XCeed formally belongs to the C class and is declared by the manufacturer as a Coupe SUV. But this is more of a cross-hatch or raised hatchback based on the popular Ceed model.

The XCeed has the same 2,650 mm wheelbase as the Ceed, but the cross-hatch is 85 mm longer and 43 mm taller than the regular Ceed. These two models do not share body panels, they only have similar front doors and some of the internal power elements. Apart from that, the XCeed is original. The higher seating position of the Kia XCeed cross-hatch allows for better road visibility compared to a conventional hatchback. Boasting more eye-catching exterior (compared to a conventional hatchback), better visibility and practicality (thanks to a spacious trunk), the new Kia XCeed promises to be one of the most interesting cars in its segment.

Exterior

The exterior of the Kia XCeed is reinforced with plastic elements of the body kit, a window line rising to the stern, and silver roof rails. The sporty silhouette, sloping roof, elegant taillights, stylish radiator grille and special rear bumper design make the new XCeed look unique.

Interior

The interior of the SUV loosely resembles the Ceed model. But it has more interesting fittings: a multimedia system with a touchscreen display, a fully digital Supervision dashboard with the 12.3-in display. Standard trims offer an analog dashboard with a monochrome or color display of the on-board computer.

Kia XCeed has independent suspensions. As compared to the standard Ceed hatchbacks, the XCeed provides a softer ride, which makes it comfortable for use in occasional off-road conditions. Despite the absence of the all-wheel drive, the XCeed’s front suspension is equipped with hydraulic rebound buffers inside the shock absorbers. A new dynamic damper for the rear cross member minimizes road noise and vibration. The springs, though becoming longer than the Ceed’s ones due to the increased clearance, are softened by 7% in the front and by 4% in the rear.

Boasting more eye-catching exterior, better visibility and practicality (thanks to a spacious trunk), the new Kia XCeed promises to be one of the most interesting cars in its segment.

The XCeed’s steering gear has been tuned for quicker initial responses to driver behavior. There is a KIA Drive Mode Select system, which allows the driver to change the reactions to their behavior by using the gas pedal and the steering wheel, as well as the operation speed of the semi-automatic transmission.

The manufacturer indicates that the safety equipment of the Kia XCeed includes intelligent cruise control with a stop and resume function, blind spot detection and lane movement monitoring, a collision warning system with pedestrian detection, an intelligent parking assistant, automatic high beam headlights and much more.

According to Kia, ‘If you tend to choose your own path and your decisions are equally dictated by heart and mind, check out the Kia XCeed’.
