Land Rover Discovery Sport is an all-wheel drive SUV produced by the British automobile maker, Land Rover, since 2014. In 2020, the Israeli market offered the first generation Land Rover Discovery Sport 5-Door SUV, which underwent restyling in 2019.
The first generation
The first Land Rover Discovery Sport debuted in October 2014 at the annual Paris International Motor Show. The new Discovery Sport replaced the Freelander 2. And since then, Land Rover has been releasing both Discovery and Sport under the Discovery name.
Built on a redesigned Range Rover Evoque platform, even the exterior of the first Discovery Sport resembles a bit the Evoque’s exterior: it has stylish elongated headlights with large lens optics and elegant daytime running light sections. The radiator grille is presented in the form of two metallic-colored covers with small elongated honeycombs. At the bottom, the special cavities, similar to air intakes, along the edges of the bumper, accommodate elongated fog lights. The plates, bumpers and wheel arches contain an indispensable attribute of SUVs, which is the lining made of black unpainted plastic, designed to protect the paintwork of the body panels from stones and gravel flying from under the wheels in case of driving on a top-soil road.
