Lingbao Coco. The cheapest electric car
The Lingbao Coco, a tiny electric 5-door hatchback with a length of only 3.5 m, has been produced since 2021 by the Chinese company Jiangsu Jemmell New Energy Vehicle Industry from Jiangsu province. This is probably the cheapest electric car in the world: the cost of the entry-level version starts from 26,800 yuan (about 3,900 dollars). The driving range is up to 220 km. This is an ideal city car!
The Wuling Mini EV, produced since 2020 by the SAIC-GM-Wuling JV, costs 4,500 dollars.
Exterior
The affordable electric car has a square shape, high body and short wheelbase. The car is 3,548 mm long, 1,536 mm wide and 1,588 mm high. Its wheelbase reaches 2,300 mm. The entry-level features halogen optics and small alloy wheels. The car comes with 155/70 R13 tires.
Interior and equipment
The electric hatchback is offered in four trim levels: Hero, Alliance, Glory and Honor Edition. The entry-level (and cheapest) version is equipped with a minimum of equipment, including analog instrument gauges and a radio tape recorder with a small monochrome screen. There are not even airbags, but there is ABS. More superior versions will have a 10.1-inch multimedia system, Bluetooth, air conditioning, a drive mode switch system and rear parking sensors.
Motors
The Lingbao Coco comes with one electric motor on the front axle with a return of 41 hp and 95 Nm and a traction battery that does not support fast charging. You can charge your electric car only from the home network in 6-7 hours. But you can choose between two different battery capacities, providing 120 or 220 km. The maximum speed is 100 km/h.
According to Carsalesbase, Jiangsu Jemmel New Energy Vehicle Industry cars are sold under the Lingbao trademark. In April 2020, the company officially launched a new brand, the first model of which was the electric retro hatchback, the Lingbao Box.
