2016 Mazda CX-5 SUV. 2nd generation
Mazda CX-5 is a compact 5-door SUV produced by the Japanese automaker, Mazda, since 2011. The second generation Mazda CX-5 appeared in November 2016, and its sales actually began in 2017.
Design philosophy
The new SUV boasts a bold design in the spirit of ‘KODO - Soul of Motion’ and modern technologies of the new generation SKYACTIV while maintaining a decent level of safety, efficiency, ease of control and comfort.
The Japanese traditions in the outlines of the second generation Mazda CX-5 consist in discreet and balanced forms, without broken lines that neatly complement the sober colors. The exterior of the 2016/2017 Mazda CX-5 has not changed much, but it has become much more eye-catching. The headlights have become narrower, the radiator grille has slightly changed its inclination, and the SUV’s rear bodywork has become stricter. At the same time, the new CX-5 boasts a bigger front face, increased stability in turning, a lower center of gravity and improved suspension damping.
Modifications
In 2020, the second generation Mazda CX-5 was introduced to the Israeli market as both front-wheel drive and 4×4 versions. There are two petrol engines to choose from: a 2-liter engine with 165 hp and a 2.5-liter engine with 195 hp. The first engine provides a speed of 189 km/h, while the second one accelerates the CX-5 to 199 km/h. Both of them are equipped with 6-speed automatic transmission for both front and all-wheel drive versions.
Trim versions
There are 4 trim versions for the 2018/2019 Mazda CX-5 available to Israeli buyers: Comfort, Executive, Premium and Signature. Moreover, there are Comfort, Executive and Premium trim versions for the models equipped with 2-liter engines, while the Premium and Signature trims are offered for the models equipped with 2.5-liter engines.
The ‘simplest’ trim of the Mazda CX-5 Comfort comprises 6 airbags, a tire pressure sensor, an anti-theft system with an immobilizer and central locking, a rear and 360-degree camera, adaptive cruise control and even a sunroof! As for the driver assistance systems, the standard ABS and ASR, brake assist (BAS, EBD, EBA) and electronic stability program (ESP) are complemented by the lane departure warning system and traffic sign recognition system. You can select a driving mode. There is a voice control. With the tinted glass, 2-zone climate control, multifunction steering wheel, hands-free trunk opening system, LED headlights and adaptive lighting, you will understand that even the ‘simple’ trim is very advanced! And a metallic color completes the picture!
The Mazda CX-5 Premium boasts a collision avoidance system, driver fatigue sensor, electric seat adjustment with a memory function, ventilated leather seats, full parking assistance with front and rear parking sensors and automatic parking, head-up display and R19 wheels.
