Crossover Mercedes GLE Coupe. 2nd generation 2019
The Mercedes GLE Coupe is all-wheel drive version coupe of the mid-size luxury E-class crossover from the German brand Mercedes-Benz, which has been produced since 2014. In 2020, the second generation of the 2019 model year SUV was available on the Israeli market.
The coupe-like crossover with codename C167 has firstly presented at the international car show in Frankfurt am Main. It has been built based on GLE V167 since 2019. The 2019/2020 5-door 5-seat GLE Coupe’s length is 4939 mm, width is 2010 mm, height is 1730 mm. The wheelbase is 2935 mm. Trunk volume is 655 liters min, 1790 liters max. The second-generation cross-coupe is wider and longer than its predecessor, but with a shorter wheelbase. The manufacturer says: “It is beneficial for both handling and sporty looks”.
Distinctive features
Mercedes GLE Coupe2020 with its flat windscreen, low body, and sloping rear bodywork stands out for its elegant silhouette, displaying its superb sportiness. The car received a new fore carriage, a diamond honeycomb grille, and MULTIBEAM LED headlights. The muscular design and split rear ambient lighting make it even more powerful and wider. Now SUV can be fitted with 22-inch wheels that further enhance the off-road character of the new GLE Coupe.
The interior of the new coupe has two large displays covered with a noble solid glass panel. High-quality sports seats for both driver and front passenger provide tangible support and allow you to enjoy dynamic driving without sacrificing comfort. The spacious rear of the cabin, in which passengers have plenty of space and a cozy atmosphere, also adds comfort. New GLE Coupe features LED interior lighting in 64 different colors and massage programs. If you activate ENERGIZING program all comfort functions are automatically adjusted to each other. The spacious compartment is now very convenient for loading, thanks to the low loading height. A large number of cameras and sensors help maintain visibility, even when driving around the city, and perfectly addresses every traffic situation.
Modifications
The 2020 Mercedes GLE Coupe is equipped with a straight-six 3-liter diesel engine with different power levels. The GLE Coupe 350 d 4Matic is equipped with a 272 hp engine with combined fuel consumption of 7.5-8.0 liters per 100 km. On GLE Coupe 400 d 4Matic version – a 330 hp engine, consuming an average of 7.5-8.0 liters per 100 km. All motors are fitted with a 9G-Tronic transmission and a transfer case with an electronically controlled multi-plate clutch that distributes traction between the axles. There is a petrol version with a 3-L 367 hp engine, and a hybrid version with a 2-L 320 hp engine.
Trim versions
The list of options for the new GLE Coupe includes a sunroof and panoramic roof, pedal and side skirts, interior lighting, a black fabric headlining, folding rear seat, air suspension (not on all models), LED headlights, light, and rain sensors, adaptive lighting and R20 wheels are standard, and R22 can be supplied for an extra charge.
Basic options for coupe-crossover are at least 6 airbags, central locking, rear camera or all-round-view camera, adaptive cruise control, driving mode selection, front and rear parking sensors with automatic parking system, electronic brake assist system, collision avoidance system, and electronic stability control.
Modern multimedia with voice control, Android Auto and Carplay, audio system or Hi-Fi audio system, electronic control panel, navigation, decent power pack for resetting and heating systems, including a hands-free trunk opening system and power-folding mirrors, dual-zone climate control, a multifunction steering wheel, keyless access – this is not a complete set of the interior equipment of the new 2021 Mercedes GLE Coupe.
