3-door MINI Hatch hatchback. 3rd generation, restyled in 2018
MINI Hatch is a front-wheel drive 3 or 5-door 5-seater B-class hatchback, which has been produced since 2001 under the MINI trademark, under the auspices of the German concern BMW. In 2021, the third generation of the hatchback is available in the Israeli market both after the 2018 restyling and re-updated in 2021.
The 2018 model year 3-door 5-seater hatchback has the following dimensions: length is 3821 mm, width is 1727 mm, height is 1414 mm, wheelbase is 2495 mm. Trunk volume is 211/731 liters.
Distinctive features
The third generation of the hatchback was updated in 2018. The new MINI Hatch features a hexagonal radiator grille with black piping. The holes in the grille have been reduced, and a body-colored insert is located in the center. Fog lights have been removed from the corners of the bumper, and the vertical air intakes are now in their place. An imitation of vents appeared in the rear bumper, and the fog lamp with an incandescent lamp was replaced with a small LED element. The side mirrors have taken on an intricate shape.
Inside, the 2018/2019 MINI Hatch boasts a new multifunction steering wheel with leather trim, a digital display instead of the traditional instrument cluster, and a different button design.
Modifications
In 2020, an adaptive suspension has appeared as an option, which is capable of increasing stiffness by up to 50%. The new Hatch has become much more responsive in management. In Israel, the 2018/2019 three-door is supplied with gasoline engines, including the most powerful version, as well as an electric version. All are equipped with front-wheel drive. Models:
- 1.5 Mini One: 3-cylinder 1.5-liter turbo engine with 102 hp. and a 7-sped automated manual transmission included; acceleration time from 0 to 100 km/h is 10.2 seconds, maximum speed is 195 km/h.
- 1.5 Mini Cooper: Same 3-cylinder 1.5-liter turbo engine, but boosted to 136 hp. plus a 7-speed automated manual transmission; acceleration time from 0 to 100 km/h is 7.8 seconds, maximum speed is 210 km/h.
- 2.0 Mini Cooper S: 4-cylinder 2.0-liter turbo engine with 192 hp. paired with a 7-speed automated manual transmission; acceleration time from 0 to 100 km/h is 6.7 seconds, maximum speed is 235 km/h.
- Mini John Cooper Works - the most powerful and charged version: 4-cylinder 2-liter turbo engine with 231 hp. boost, complemented by an 8-speed automatic transmission; acceleration time from 0 to 100 km/h is 6.1 seconds, and maximum speed is up to 246 km/h. Hurricane!
- Electro SE is electric version: power is 184 hp. or 135 kW/h, mileage on one charge is 235 km, maximum speed is 150 km/h, acceleration time from 0 to 100 km/h is 7.3 seconds.
Trim versions
Several trim versions of MINI Hatch 2019/2020 are supplied to Israel. All come standard with 6 airbags, power steering and a variety of electronic assistants, including anti-lock braking and stabilization systems, brake assist and traction control, collision avoidance and lane keeping control. All models, except Salt and Urban, have a drive mode selection system.
Convenient multimedia system with Bluetooth, audio system, interior lighting, leather steering wheel, air conditioning or 2-zone climate control, multifunction steering wheel, keyless access, engine start from a button are also included in the basic options of the new hatchback.
The top-end Chili configuration includes a two-tone body with roof rails, a panoramic roof, leather interior, front sports seats, cruise control, LED headlights and R17 wheels. Rear camera and front parking sensors, driver fatigue sensor, navigation, smartphone control will be added to the electric version of the MINI Hatch Electro SE 2019/2020.
