Update:

In August 2021, the manufacturer released a new Nissan Z coupe with a three-liter turbocharged engine.

The Nissan 370Z is a two-door, two-seater front-engined and rear-wheel drive coupe or roadster, which has been produced by Nissan (Japan) since 2009. In Israel and around the world, it is possible to buy the first-generation car, which has been restyled more than once and enjoys a small, but quite stable demand due to its characteristics and low price.

The first generation

It has been produced from 2009 to the present, and was restyled more than once (as of 2021). The Nissan 370Z rear-wheel drive coupe was sold in Japan under the name ‘Fairlady Z’, meaning a ‘beloved woman’ or ‘beautiful lady’. In the same year, the manufacturer presented an open roadster, equipped with an electric soft top. To reduce the weight of the car, part of the body panels are made of aluminum. Despite its nature, the Nissan coupe looks calm and elegant.

The Nissan 370Z is 4,250 mm long, 1,845 mm wide and 1,310 mm high. It has a wheelbase of 2,550 mm and a ground clearance of 125 mm. Such a ground clearance is typical of sports cars, as it provides a low center of gravity. Thanks to this, sports cars can hold the road better and are less prone to rolling over. The trunk of the Nissan 370Z cannot boast of a large volume, only 235 liters of free space. But no one expects a large cargo compartment from the coupe.

The 370Z coupe is equipped with a large VQ V-shaped petrol naturally aspirated six-cylinder engine with a variable valve timing system and a valve lift system. The engine has a volume of 3,696 cubic centimeters and generates 331 hp at 7,000 rpm and 366 Nm of torque at 5,200 rpm (in the version for the American market, the same engine produces 337 hp). It can be coupled with a 6-speed manual transmission or a 7-speed automatic transmission. The coupe accelerates to 100 km/h in 5.3 seconds and has a top speed of 250 km/h. And for the versions equipped with the automatic transmission, acceleration to 100 km/h occurs 0.3 seconds slower. The 370Z’s fuel consumption is 15.4 liters per 100 km in the city and 7.8 liters on a suburban highway.

The Nissan 370Z was sold in Japan under the name ‘Fairlady Z’, meaning a ‘beloved woman’ or ‘beautiful lady’.

The coupe is equipped with a completely independent suspension, ensuring a decent steering response: there is a double wishbone suspension at the front and a multi-link suspension at the rear. The Nissan 370Z is equipped with the Sport Package option, which includes forged aluminum wheels with low profile tires (245/40 R19 at the front and 275/35 R19 at the rear), four-piston front calipers in tandem with 355 mm brake discs at the front and 350.5 mm at the rear, as well as main gear with a limited slip differential using a viscous coupling.

High-quality materials, verified ergonomics and the highest level of comfort are the main characteristics of the interior. The driver will always feel comfortable when driving this car, no matter how long they need to drive.

There is an interesting version, called the Nissan 370Z Nismo, equipped with an engine boosted to 350-355 hp, a stiffer sports suspension and a manual transmission, as well as a brake system with improved characteristics and a special exhaust system. Plus, the NISMO cars other have different front and rear bumpers, as well as an aerodynamic spoiler. The interior features lightweight sports seats and red stitching on the steering wheel and dashboard. Until 2015, the 370Z NISMO was equipped with a manual transmission only. The 2015 restyling provided new body parts (front and rear bumpers, door sills), as well as the chance to choose an automatic transmission.

2012 restyling

Restyling touched the coupe and the roadster, as well as a charged modification from the NISMO studio. The 2012/2013 Nissan 370Z can be distinguished from its predecessor by a new front bumper with vertical LED running lights, a retouched rear bumper, and redesigned 18-inch wheels.

The car has also acquired two additional body paint options: Magma Red and Midnight Blue. The Sport package is available as an option, including 19-inch wheels, body-colored brake calipers and stricter shock settings. The car is still equipped with a 3.7-liter petrol six-cylinder engine generating 332 hp, coupled either with a 6-speed manual transmission, or a 7-speed automatic transmission.

The NISMO 370Z charged modification boasts an engine boosted up to 350 hp, an aerodynamic body kit, a sports exhaust, a retuned suspension, a Bose Premium Audio system with two subwoofers, and 19-inch forged wheels.

2017 modernization

In late summer 2017, Nissan introduced the modernized 370Z coupe. The veteran had a slightly adjusted exterior, new stuff and revised equipment. The renewed model can be distinguished from the predecessor by tinted lighting technology (like the charged Nismo version), black door handles and a modified rear bumper. The two-door model could boast of the original 19-inch wheel discs. The company did not call this micromodernization an official restyling.

Since 2017, it has become possible to order the modern NissanConnect multimedia system with a 7-inch display, DVD player, navigation and a rear view camera. The 2017/2018 Nissan 370Z is powered by the previous 3.7-liter V6 engine generating 328 hp. The engine can be paired with a 6-speed manual transmission and a 7-speed automatic transmission. At the same time, the manual transmission has acquired an enhanced Exedy clutch, which made gear shifting more comfortable.
