Peugeot 5008. Family SUV with minivan features
In 2020, a restyled version of the fifth generation was released.
Peugeot 5008 is a vehicle produced by the French automobile maker, Peugeot, since 2009 to the present. It was originally a 5- or 7-seater estate, which was a typical front-wheel family compact van. The modern Peugeot 5008 is a real SUV. In 2020, Israeli buyers could purchase the 2016 second generation Peugeot 5008 5-Door SUV.
The first generation
The first 5008 minivans were equipped with both petrol and diesel engines producing from 112 to 163 hp and a mechanical or automatic transmission. According to the owners, it was a spacious and comfortable car, with an interior that easily transformed into a large one-volume car. But, at the same time, the first generation 5008 was stylish and modern for its time, had excellent acceleration dynamics, was fuel-efficient and easy to operate. Aerodynamics was especially good, as at high speeds, the Peugeot 5008 simply ‘stuck’ to the road. According to the European safety test, the first generation Peugeot 5008 got 5 out of 5 points! By the way, the number 5 in the name 5008 classifies the car as a family car; a double zero in the center indicates that the model belongs to the class of cars with a raised body; and the last eight indicates the generation.

The first generation Peugeot 5008 was produced until the beginning of 2017, although it was restyled in October 2013. The restyled 5008 started demonstrating the first features of a real SUV. And since September 2016, the second generation of the Peugeot 5008 has been released, which has turned into a full-fledged SUV.
The second generation
The new 5008 incorporates every good thing that PSA has to offer: elegant design, advanced technology, first-class optics, improved ergonomics, noble materials in the decoration and much, much more. At the same time, built on the single EMP2 (Efficient Modular Platform) platform of PSA Group, the Peugeot 3008 and 5008 have practically the same interior design, especially in the front face, and the same range of engines. But their wheelbase and body dimensions are very different. For example, the wheelbase of the 5008 is longer than that of the 3008 by as much as 165 mm. This made it possible, with maximum unification, to make the new Peugeot 5008 more solid-looking, as well as to increase the legroom of the second row passengers by 60 mm.
The 2019/2020 Peugeot 5008 has a huge trunk. Move the rear seats to increase its volume even more! And if you fold the second row seats, then you can transport a cargo with a volume of two cubic meters in the car, and if you also fold the back of the front passenger seat, you can load items up to 3.179 meters long into it!
And despite the fact that the new 5008 is a real SUV, inside it is still a minivan in the best way! The back row consists of three individual seats, adjustable in two directions: longitudinal and backrest rake angle. The interior is very spacious! It does not matter what trim version you will choose, the new Peugeot 5008 will always offer you a new architecture of the Peugeot i-Cockpit interior with a digital display, a small original steering wheel and a high dashboard, premium materials, interior lighting, signature lion ‘teeth’ on the headlights and LED ‘claws’ on the rear, panoramic roof, body structure optimized for better shock absorption, at least six airbags, anti-lock ABS and traction control ASR systems, ESP (Electronic Stability Program), brake assist systems (BAS, EBD, EBA), parking assist cameras, and state-of-the-art driving assistance systems.
