The new Geometry sub-brand was created by Geely in 2019 in Singapore. Geely proudly states that with its new brand a new era in the development of purely electric vehicles has begun. As part of the new era, by 2025, the Geometry brand will introduce 10 sedans, SUVs and minivans, endowed with the latest in-house developed technologies in the field of automotive intelligence, communications, lightweight materials and automotive architecture. Geometry will create its own all-electric platforms and distribute products through exclusive distribution channels (but first through Geely dealers).

‘Geometry is our response to the question of how we see the future of the automotive industry. It represents our ideas and our first cautious step into this bright future. The new Geometry brand brings Geely closer to the strategic goal of becoming one of the top 10 automotive holdings in the world’.
An Conghui, President and CEO of Zhejiang Geely Holding Group and Geely Auto Group.

Jihe!

Geometry. Bodywork, Exterior.

Geometry, known in China as Jihe (几何 in Chinese, which means ‘geometry’), exists as a completely separate division within Geely Auto Group, just like the Geely brand, as well as Lynk&Co, Proton and Lotus. But not like the Volvo and Polestar brands, which are directly part of Zhejiang Geely Holding Group, and not of Geely Auto Group. The introduction of the Geometry brand shows that Geely finds it important to develop advanced powertrains.

Geometry is targeted mainly at the domestic Chinese market. However, the first models have already appeared on some foreign markets. Given the previous success of Geely’s aggressive promotion, the new Geometry brand should be considered a serious competitor to electric car giants, at least in China. The strategic goal of Geometry is to become one of the top 10 leading automotive groups in the world.

‘The new brand was named in honor of a branch of mathematics that appeared more than two millennia ago and describes our world as people see it. Geometry is a vision of our future in which technology is used to create a sustainable environment and safe mobility, leading to a harmonious relationship between humanity and nature’.
Geely Holding Group

By 2025, Geely plans to introduce eight more models under the Geometry brand. A general model range comprises 10 electric vehicles. Two out of ten models will probably wear the proud Geely logo. The first models of the electric brand, A and C, are alterations of Geely’s gasoline models. At the same time, the Chinese manufacturer claims that electric cars are built on a new platform. It is likely that there will be some hybrid version. Well, or this is some kind of cunning marketing ploy.

Models

The era of completely new Geometry electric vehicles began with the Geely Geometry A and Geely Geometry C models. The first of them is the Geely Emgrand GL transformed into an electric vehicle, the second is the modernized Geely Emgrand GS. Recently, Geometry introduced a new version of the Model A called Pro, which is 25% stronger than the simple A and has a driving range of 600 km. For the moment, there is no more information about the Pro.

  • Geely Geometry A

The Geometry A is an electric sedan presented as a cheaper and less advanced alternative to the Tesla Model 3. It looks quite presentable and harmonious, repeating the fashionable smooth and faceless design of most electric cars in the world. The interior is also quite trendy, technological and minimalistic. There are two monitors displaying all the necessary information, level 2 autonomous driving options, and a voice assistant. The trunk is sufficiently capacious. The 2020/2021 Geometry A comes standard with a 51.9 kWh battery that provides a driving range of around 410 km. But there is also a version with a driving range of 500 km, with a larger battery capacity of 61.9 kWh. The base electric motor produces 161 hp.

  • Geely Geometry C

The Geometry C is a mid-size electric vehicle created on the basis of the Geely Emgrand GS compact SUV in 2020. Some sources position it as a hatchback, while others call it an SUV. The model is a cheaper alternative to the Nissan Leaf. The design is inherited from Emgrand GS, but the Geometry C is positioned as a very special car, created within the framework of the ‘multi-dimensional fluid life body’ concept. The new Geometry C comes with two batteries, 53 kWh and 70 kWh, which provide a driving range of approximately 400 and 550 kilometers without recharging, respectively. The Ni150Ex engines operate within the power range from 50 to 200 kW and produce 200 hp. The maximum speed is 150 km/h. The interior is technologically advanced and comfortable, offering many places for storing items and an original capacious trunk.
