The Nissan GT-R is a sports two-seater coupe, produced by Nissan Motor since 2008. In 2007, the Nissan GT-R (former Skyline GT-R) became an independent model. This fast, beautiful and safe supercar possesses excellent characteristics. The production of the first generation model, which has been restyled three times, continues. The car was unveiled as a production model at the Tokyo Motor Show on October 24, 2007. In 2008, its sales started in Japan, and later in the USA and Europe. In 2021, Israeli buyers can purchase the third generation Nissan GT-R after the 2016 restyling.

Update:

In September 2021, the manufacturer released the GT-R Premium Edition T-spec and GT-R Track Edition Engineered by Nismo T-spec special versions.

In 2016, the coupe’s front face could boast of a new design, featuring an enlarged signature V-shaped grille, a reinforced bonnet and a new spoiler. The new Nissan GT-R has acquired a stiffer body frame and a modernized suspension, which improved the car’s steering response. The restyled GT-R is equipped with a more powerful engine boosted to 570 hp. And the GT-R Nismo sports version now can develop up to 600 hp.

Exterior and interior

Lines, forming an elegant body silhouette, are functional and ensure active aerodynamics. The model features the Skyline’s recognizable taillights. The car is better protected from noise thanks to the soundproof windshield. The interior is finished with handmade materials. Luxurious black and red leather Recaro sports seats will make anyone feel comfortable.

The car is bigger, heavier and more powerful than its predecessor. Its wheelbase reaches 2,780 mm with the body length of 4,710 mm. The rear row is very tight, which is quite typical of four-seat sport cars. The same is indicated by the interior size, its length is only 1,730 mm. Nevertheless, the trunk can offer an excellent volume of 315 liters, which is a very good indicator for the car of this class. In Israel, the car comes in six body colors, including scarlet, silver, white mother-of-pearl, black, orange and grey metallic. The GT-R’s unique sound is the result of work of the titanic exhaust system.

Powertrains and chassis

The Nissan GT-R has an unusual layout: the engine is located at the front, and the gearbox is at the rear, thus ensuring a good weight distribution. The car uses various new technologies, as well as carbon and aluminum elements. The car is equipped with a 3.8-liter twin-turbo V6 engine, coupled with a semi-automatic dual-clutch transmission. The GT-R comprises the ATTESA ET-S all-wheel drive system, which standardly sends 100% torque to the rear wheels, but in certain conditions can redirect 50% of this power to the front wheels, ensuring safer driving.

The 2016/2017 Nissan GT-R features an upgraded 6-speed dual-clutch transmission with improved R driving mode for maximum performance on the road and race track. Reconfiguring the suspensions provides a higher level of control and safety. The driver senses more precise responses from the car, receiving a superior driving experience. The electronic suspension control has been adjusted to provide better cornering stability and a smoother ride. The steering is more precise than ever and requires minimal adjustments while driving. Finally, a turbocharger that improves responsiveness at low engine speeds provides better output.

Equipment

The 2017/2018 Nissan GT-R offers a lot of pleasant options: a multimedia system with an 8-inch color touch screen, a rear-view camera, a multifunction steering wheel with audio control buttons, cruise control, Bluetooth headset, as well as suspension, transmission and Vehicle Dynamics Control (VDC); heated seats, climate control, light, rain and parking sensors (front and rear). Safety is ensured by dynamic stability control systems, a wheel lock prevention system with BA (brake assist system) and EBD (brake force distribution system), traction control system and TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System). The doors comprise protective bars.

The 2019/2020 Nissan GT-R trims, available in Israel, is called the Black Edition. It features ultra-light 20-inch Rays aluminum wheels in black and a carbon fiber rear spoiler.
