The new Mercedes EQA is the junior electric vehicle of the EQ sub-brand, which debuted in February 2021. The compact 5-door SUV based on the Mercedes GLA is 4,463 mm long, 1,834 mm wide and 1,624 mm high, with a wheelbase of 2,729 mm. The trunk holds from 340 to 1,320 liters.

Exterior

The electric SUV has an original exterior, featuring unusual headlights and a plug instead of a radiator grille at the front. The taillights are connected by a narrow light strip (just as at the front), the rear platform for the license plate has been moved from the fifth door to the bumper. The vehicle comes with special aerodynamic 18-inch alloy wheels, whereas the Edition 1 limited version, associated with the start of sales, there are 20-inch wheels. The body is quite aerodynamic, with the aerodynamic drag coefficient being 0.28. The exterior can be personalized by choosing the basic Progressive variation, the Electric Art decor, or the AMG Line.

Interior and equipment

The interior of the 2021 Mercedes EQA practically copies the interior of the GLA. The electric version is distinguished by a display slightly altered to suit the driver’s needs and an interface of the MBUX multimedia system with navigation. The size of the screens of the virtual dashboard and media system is 7 or 10.25 inches (depending on the trim level). There is an original decorative insert on the passenger side of the front panel. The navigation system helps the driver to plan the best routes based on the location of the charging stations, charging times, weather and traffic. In advanced trim levels, there is a wireless charger for smartphones.

The basic trim level includes six airbags, a rear camera or all-round camera, adaptive cruise control, front and rear parking sensors. All models for Israel are equipped with a panoramic roof, LED headlights with automatic switching from high beam to low beam, interior lighting with a choice of 64 colors. The heated front seats are four directions adjustable and have the position memory function. The vehicle features climate control and electric fifth door.

Modifications
