Hyundai Accent. In production since 1994
Update:

In March 2020, the car underwent restyling, acquiring new more fuel-efficient engines.

The Hyundai Accent is a compact B-class passenger car produced by the South Korean automaker Hyundai Motor since 1994. In 2020, the fifth generation of the 2017 model year sedan was available on the Israeli market.

In some countries, the Hyundai Accent was sold under the name Verna. Moreover, it was called ‘Solaris’ in Russia, ‘Excel’ in Australia, ‘Pony’ in France, ‘Dodge Brisa’ in Venezuela and ‘Dodge Attitude’ in Mexico.

The first generation

The first generation of the Hyundai Accent was produced from 1994 to 2000 in sedan, 3-door and 5-door hatchback bodies. A new, fairly modern design, simple structure, comfortable interior, easy operation, a wide range of additional options and a low price allowed the Accent to conquer the markets of many countries. In addition to this, the first Accent was fuel-efficient and rightfully became a real family vehicle, which at that time was chosen by many motorists around the world.

The exterior of the first Accent was inspired by biodesign, which dominated in the mid-1990s in the automotive industry. For painting the first-generation cars, unusual colors were offered, for example, purple or pink. The interior, made in rounded shapes, was available in several trim levels: from the cheapest, with a single rear-view mirror, to the most expensive-with an automatic transmission and air conditioning. For a long time, the first generation Accent remained the favorite car for many car owners from all continents on our planet.

The second generation

The second-generation Hyundai Accent was produced from 1999 to 2006, going through a facelift in 2003. The second Accent had a new exterior with straighter shapes, a low-sloping hood and a significant tilt angle on the windscreen, which provided a low drag coefficient. The interior became larger, more comfortable and functional, and the driver’s seat had significant ergonomics and had excellent visibility. In addition, the second Emphasis boasted of excellent noise insulation and new engines, including diesel ones.

The third generation

The third generation Hyundai Accent was produced from 2006 to 2011. The third Accent, built on the same base as the Kia Rio, completely changed. It started looking more modern, while maintaining the overall silhouette and style of the previous model. The front face had a new design, borrowed from the Hyundai Coupe: a similar solution to the radiator grille, recognizable large headlamps. Minor changes were also made to the side panels of the body and the rear of the car. The interior of the third Accent became even more spacious, comfortable ergonomic chairs appeared. Modern design, new engines and a galvanized body with excellent corrosion resistance made the Accent of the third generation a very popular car again.

Modern design, simple structure, comfortable interior, easy operation, a wide range of additional options and low price allowed the Hyundai Accent to win the markets of many countries. For a long time, the Accent remained the favorite car for many car owners from all continents on our planet.

The fourth generation

The fourth-generation Hyundai Accent was produced from 2011 to 2017 in sedan and five-door hatchback bodies. The fourth Accent became longer, wider and lower than its predecessor, the distance between the axles increased, McPherson struts were installed at the front, and a semi-independent beam suspension was installed at the rear. The engines became more powerful. The fourth generation Accent, made in compliance with the new ‘flowing lines’ concept of Hyundai, looked dynamic and fast.

The fifth generation

The fifth generation Hyundai Accent has been produced from 2017 to the present. The car can boast of aggressive and sporty design elements, beautiful embossing and large air intake systems. The hood cap is slightly tilted towards the road and has a slight rise in the center. The strongly tilted windscreen adds aggressiveness to the front, which is also supported by the triangular ‘grin’ of the optics. The Accent 2019/2020 sports ambitions are also confirmed by beautiful alloy wheels in slightly enlarged arches, as well as catchy chrome handles. The sedan still has an aerodynamic protrusion at the very end of the trunk lid.

The new 2020 Accent has excellent fabric, decent plastic and leather materials, as well as a very functional multimedia system. The list of other options available to the driver is also pleasantly surprising. All passengers will feel comfortable in the 2020 Hyundai Accent’s seats. This is achieved due to the fact that each seat has an excellent fabric or leather finish and high-quality filler.
