Kia Niro is a compact J-class hybrid SUV produced by the South Korean automobile maker, Kia, since 2016. In 2020, the 2016 first generation Kia Niro 5-Door SUV was available on the Israeli market.
The 2019/2020 Kia Niro 5-Door 5-Seater SUV is compact in size: 4,355 mm long, 1,805 mm wide, and a wheelbase of 2,700 mm. Its trunk volume reaches 401 liters.
Modifications
In Israel, the new Kia Niro crossover comes as a front-wheel drive car with two power system options: conventional hybrid and Plug-in. The only fundamental difference between them is that Niro Plug-in Hybrid is able to charge from the mains. The power of the lithium-ion battery is 360 kW. One charge allows the Niro PHEV to travel 42 km without starting the engine. It takes 9 and 2.5 hours respectively to charge the Niro Plug-in from a 120V or a 240V AC power source. Both modifications of a 1.6-liter petrol engine producing 105 hp are complemented by a 6-speed robot unit. Average fuel consumption is 3.8 liters per 100 km. The maximum possible speed is 162 km/h.
Trim versions
Two trim versions of the 2020 Kia Niro SUV are in Israel: EX and LX. Both versions are equipped with roof rails and LED headlights. The EX boasts decorative interior lighting, tinted glass and an expanded list of options.
Both trims of the 2020 Kia Niro provide at least 7 airbags, including those for windows and driver’s knees, immobilizer, central locking, rear camera, adaptive cruise control, drive mode selection system, ABS, lane control, hill descent and start assist, automatic brake assist, collision avoidance and stabilization system.
The basic options of the new 2020 Kia Niro SUV also include a multimedia system suitable for Bluetooth and USB, audio system, power windows, heated side mirrors, power steering, 3-zone climate control, multifunctional steering wheel, electrically folding mirrors, fuel-saving start-stop system, daytime running lights, fog lights, adaptive lighting and automatic headlight range control.
