Mercedes E-class is a series of business-class passenger cars of the German brand Mercedes-Benz, which has been produced since 1984. The fifth generation of the 2016 E-Class in sedan and coupe bodies was available on the Israel market in 2020.
The 2016/2017 4-door 5-seat sedan is 4923 mm long and 1852 mm wide, the wheelbase is 2939 mm, the trunk volume is 400 liters.
Distinctive features
The fifth generation of the Mercedes E-Class is designed on the basis of the modular MRA platform. It has slightly larger dimensions and is equipped with a variety of advanced safety and driver assistance systems, including autonomous driving and parking technology, as well as upgraded powertrains. The new E-class has become larger than its predecessor, has increased in length and wheelbase, while decreasing in width and height, and also became lighter by about 70 kg, due to the use of aluminum and high-strength steel in the body, including fenders, hood, and trunk lid. Externally, the car is designed in the corporate style of the brand, somewhat reminiscent of the latest generations of the C- and S-class.
Modifications
The 2019/2020 Mercedes E-Class back-wheel drive sedan comes to the Israeli market in its top-of-the-line hybrid version, the E 300e. It is capable of speeds up to 250 km/h and accelerates from 0 km/h to 100 km/h in 5.7 seconds while consuming only 1.9 liters of fuel per 100 km. The hybrid powertrain includes a 2-liter gasoline turbo engine with 211 hp, which is capable of delivering 155 kW and has a maximum torque of 350 Nm together with the electric motor.
Trim versions
2020 Mercedes E-Class Hybrid Sedan comes in three trim levels: Edition, AMG Edition, and Exclusive Edition. All models are equipped with a sunroof and a panoramic roof, decorative interior lighting, door sills, sun blinds on the rear window and in the rear doors, an interior trimmed with faux leather, LED headlights, and have a metallic color as a basic option.
